Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 1 - weird issues
        by dfear
I am trying to fix a "LENOVO THINKPAD X1 YOGA TYPE 20FQ / 20FR" laptop.

It's a 1st gen X1 Yoga and it has a couple of strange issues. I think they are related to either:
        1) damaged ME region in the firmware/BIOS.
        2) The version of the ME firmware is too old.

The two issues I am having are:
        1) The laptop will shutdown, but fails to power off the laptop. If the laptop is forced powered off, then it can ONLY turned on again if:
        a) The charger is disconnected.
        b) The reset button is pressed.
        c) The power button...

MSI Raider GE66 Short/ no power - weird issues please help
        by bigbadbios
        Hi, I have a MSI Raider GE66 i7-10750h, Rtx2070 Super
        It will not turn on.
Found IC TI 1225C getting hot on back of MB.
Replaced said IC. Plugged laptop in and heard a pop/smell burned smell. Inspected and I see NOTHING physically burned or damaged including the IC. Now on the power supply i have about .5 volts compared to 20v before.
I am lost at what to do now, your input is greatly appreciated. I spent a fair bit on this one in hopes it's fixable.
        Thanks for your time.

MSI Z370-A Pro, works but does not power off or reboot and USB issues
        by gretti
I have a MSI Z370-A Pro. The board does not reboot or shut down from the Windows recovery console. USB communications stop and the status light on USB 1 stays on and does not blink. I have programmed a new BIOS with a CH341A programmer already, swapped RAM, PSU, CPU. The board will power off when the power button is held and resets when the reset switch is pressed, but it will not react to the reset switch if already told by software to shut down or restart. The board will reboot from BIOS after a save and exit command.

The MSI BIOS included the ME firmware for the board. The size...

        Sony KLV-37S400A Weird Issues
        by Kyleadonis
I have a Sony TV that after a few minutes it makes a pop sound through the speakers and then completely switches off and then powers back on by itself, the green LED goes out and then back on again. Since I replaced all the caps on the inverter and power supply its shutdown intervals are longer. I haven't replaced the main filter cap but now I'm just lost on what to do? I've tried resetting but no luck. Anyone know what else to do?...

        Audio Issues - Realtek ALC3306 - Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14ARP8 - Type 83AX
        by SoulFreeze
Hi, trying to troubleshoot some problems with this laptop I just finished repairing which had power issues (Burnt Buck converter - SY8883DFC shorted to ground).

After repairing the above issue, I realized the following remaining problem,
Sound only comes from bottom speakers, top palmrest speakers don't work. Neither does the headphone jack (static/buzzing).
The computer recognizes headphones are connected and displays a popup in windows
Sometimes, the computer will boot up and the sound will be working fine. However, if I run intensive programs and the computer...
