Re: Connect a domain name to external host via ISPConfig

If you want to have address example.site.com go to vps at xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

All you have to do is go to your dns settings for site.com and add a subdomain in there you will see subdomain field put example in it and A record put xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx save done
    My pc
    CPU : AMD PHENOM II x4 @ 3.5Ghz
    MB : ASUS M4A89TD PRO USB3
    RAM : Kingston ValueRAM 16gb DDR3

GPU : ATI Radeon HD 6850

Re: Connect a domain name to external host via ISPConfig

OK so most registrars have a free DNS built in. If you post who your registrar is, I should be able to give you fairly precise instructions on how to use the registrar's DNS, (I deal with tons of registrars on a daily basis for both myself and my domain, hosting, and VPS customers)...

Anyway, you will want to make an "A record" for the subdomain to go to the IP address of the VPS. So let's take a real example, using a VPS I use as a test box for making YouTube videos like this one....
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvIccZI1ELg
Let's say the domain name is shovehost.com, but you want the VPS to be at test.shovehost.com. You would go to wherever your DNS is hosted (in this case you probably have it at your registrar), an alternative is to use a third party service like CloudFlare or Rage4
      https://www.cloudflare.com/
      http://www.rage4.com/

Anyway so I have my VPS at 173.208.211.110 and since I want it at test.shovehost.com I would add an A record for test to my DNS zone file, pointing to the IP of the server. Some extra info: CNAMEs are like redirects, MX records are for email (in this case I host my email with Rackspace so I can't just use the email servers on my hosting).
Don't get confused by any options at the DNS to make an AAAA record, you DO NOT WANT THAT as it is for IPv6 only which is NOT going to work for you.

Then you would add your domain and subdomain to ISPConfig on your VPS. Then upload your website and have fun. But I hope that is helpful. I know Badcaps.net is on a server running ISPConfig, so I'm sure Topcat could answer any super specific ISPConfig questions because I'm more of a cPanel guy myself and it's been at least a year since I last used ISPConfig.

Anyway, good luck on your project, and see the attached screenshot for an example of the DNS Zone File I've blacked out the IPs for my website because those need to be private.

Edit: but honestly, for just hosting a website, a standard web host might be simpler for you to use and understand. cPanel is certainly a much more user-friendly and more polished and documented control panel, and in this case all you'd have to do is use the nameservers provided by the host when you sign up for hosting, and set those within the Domain Name Registrar. However this is certainly MUCH less fun than getting everything running on a virtual private server...

Trying to Save - Samsung 65" The Frame (QN65LS03B) with no signs of life (One Connect Box)
        by KYBOSH
I picked this one up today.
Previous owner says no signs of life.
TV looks immaculate and its a 2022 model year so I thought maybe the one connect cable was damaged.
Got it home and put it on the Kill-A-Watt power meter and it was completely dead.

The TV model is QN65LS03BAFXZA - version: CB06
        The One Connect Box BN44-01066D / BN96-54788Q / BN39-02470A.

I immediately remembered EazyBone's Samsung The Frame TV no power....One Connect thread and am preparing myself to tear the One Connect open and hunt for dead parts.

        Will keep you all...

Samsung 55HU8590 UE55HU8590 maybe one connect box ocb
        by An-klamm
        Hello!

I have a TV that I can't get any further with.
It is a Samsung UE 55HU8590 with one connect box.
When I turn on the TV without the one connect box, the animation on the TV tells me to connect the ocb.
As soon as I connect it, the TV restarts (panel goes dark) and the TV tries to start continuously (relay on the SMPS clicks about every 3 seconds).
Since the TV works without ocb, I assume that it can't be the PSU?!
I have measured all contacts of the one connect cable against GND on the ocb board and there is no short circuit anywhere.
        Is there...

Samsung The Frame TV no power indicator issues diagnosing the one connect box
        by EazyBone
I got a qn65ls03ta from someone who stated shows no power at all. They said they bought a fully new tv (same one) and tested the one connect box from the old one onto the new one and said it worked.

I have no reason not to believe them, so I crack open the TV and test for voltages on the main board. There are none. I can't get any voltage at all. (Power comes from one connect to Main board then sends power to additional power board for backlights I believe)

While doing some digging I found the connection to the one connect cable ON the main board seems to be missing small...

SAMSUNG UE65HU8500 ONE CONNECT pinout connector request
        by AlexVG
        Hi,
        I came across with
        SAMSUNG UE65HU8500
        ONE CONNECT BN41-02135
        Chassis GOLF_UHD_1MP_JACK

TV can not recognise ONE CONNECT box, so I need to know the pinout of the CN 3301 connector.
Moreover, on the main is written A5V. However, cable connected this pin to the GND.

Maybe somebody have an experience with the same issues?
        I need your help.
        Thank you....
