Re: Let the flames begin
Nah, I'd say more like a Semi With a non-synchronized manual transmission and multiple gearshifts. Plenty of air gauges and an extra brake pedal (one for a flywheel brake). Those beasts require an intricate knowege of RPM vs MPH per gear and torque ranges to properly use. Truck drivers who drive a manual get a tip of the hat from me, those require skill to say the least.sigpic

couldn't agree more
Things I've fixed: anything from semis to crappy Chinese $2 radios, and now an IoT Dildo....

Excuse me while i do something dangerous
You must have a sad, sad boring life if you hate on people harmlessly enjoying life with an animal costume.
Sometimes you need to break shit to fix it.... Thats why my lawnmower doesn't have a deadman switch or engine brake anymore

by momakaI know I've been a little scarce lately (like the last 2-3 years), but I'm still here and still doing my thing with fixing PSUs.
For today's considerations, I have a Seasonic B12 BC-550 [A551bcafh] 550 Watt ATX power supply for you (click on links for full size images).

It's a modern ATX unit with fixed (non-modular) cables and an 80-plus bronze certificate. Here's the label:

by Dev GooseHi everyone, I recently acquired an HP EliteBook 840 G4 (6050A2854301-MB-A01) that I'm hoping to bring back to life. I'm fairly new to laptop repairs but eager to learn and willing to put in the effort to understand and fix this. Any advice or guidance would mean a lot!
What Happened
The issue started when the laptop was accidentally plugged in with reverse polarity. Before this incident, the laptop would show a power/charging light whenever it was plugged in. However, now it's completely unresponsive—no lights, no power, nothing. I've been doing some research and understand... -
by flibidyI have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.
The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.
Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

by a316briefly, one usb-c port, when connect when OS running, or in recovery mode, stays on 5v and 000 amp. If I reboot ( or connect usb-c on shutdown state), it makes 20v andbegins charging, until first disconnect/connect.
*** on shutdown state, it makes 20v, charging stops after 4-6 seconds in rare case,, sometimes never stops. If not disconnect, it stay on 20v and charges even after OS boot. after disconnect/connect (ON state) it always stays 5v 000 amp
it is not software issue, it happens only 1 port. other ports including magsafe3 is ok
