I was on my way to work today and passed a computer store as I walked by.
They had two used cases out the front which are still in an excellent condition. What caught my eye however was the size of these cases... they were massive! (if they were normal sized I would have kept walking)
One was black and one was silver... anyway they had like 6x 5.25" bays, and a floppy bay... yes floppy bay. Nice cooling too cause there were holes everywhere like a mesh design.
The build seemed pretty strong as well... not some flimsy cheapo crap that I've seen lately. Anyway... I peered down to the bottom expecting it to be a Thermaltake or Antec branded case... but it was some Chinese sounding brand called "LIAN-LI" <--- err... what?
I've never heard of this brand before... but for once I am impressed with something that comes out of China!
I got some more details of the case because I'm kinda interested in making a purchase but want some second opinions from you guys before I splurge on shit again.
The model is V-2000, LIAN-LI. It's about 70cm tall and 60cm deep. 25cm wide and has skateboard wheels at the bottom. The thing is heavy and I think it's made of brushed stainless steel or the like?
Planning to replace my broken up plastic Thermaltake Mambo that's served me well for the last 5 years or so.
Asking price is $80... ($78 USD), cheap or not? Owner of the shop said it was $430RRP. (but I know these guys like to boast).
It has standoffs installed since it is second hand but has no screws included... but I have thousands of screws so that isn't such a worry!
Honestly fell in love with it the minute I walked past (no joke), but the credit card is in the crapper after christmas so if you guys think it's a good deal, I'll go for it and worry about the card later on
Thanks.
