    Backup/Controller Suggestions

I fixed an Ultrium 460 and I want to use it to back stuff up. Windows backup is inadequate. I tried Uranium backup but the free version doesn't do tape.

There has to be some free tape software out there. Windows backup is too crashy and loses tape indexes. When it does you are fubar in terms of reading the tape.

Also... I found out the deal with the 4si controller. Its a HP-UX controller and its very similar to PERC 2/Si and HP Netraid 3si but its hanging by a tread and waaaay too large. Can anyone suggest a PCI (or compatible PCI-X,) SCSI controller that is cheap and at least U160? By cheap I mean <$20-30 on ebay.

The "Dell/Adaptec" ones you see advertised are generally plain ole Adaptec with a Dell PN sticker.
Very often they go cheaper than if advertised as just Adaptec.
Same applies to some other Dell/xxxx parts. - Same as xxxx but cheaper.

I just got an adaptec one for $15 shipped. It had 64 bit drivers, I think that was the decider.

Is the big connector for expansion or is it older scsi. I have another tape drive with a connector that size.

            Re: Backup/Controller Suggestions

There are a lot of different adaptec cards and you haven't said which one.
            - So, Yes it's for expansion and it -might- be for older SCSI.
Just look up the card at adaptec.

Possibly a connector for external 68 pin cables

AFAIK the only wide SCSI card that offered a connector for external 50 pin cables was the Diamond Fireport 40

                      I have an ASUS ROG Strix- G513IH-HN008, motherboard G513-6050A3249301- MB-A04 (A4)

When I received the device, the device has no function. After an investigation, I found that the PWM CONTROLLER RT6575B (U6100) is getting warm and there is a short circuit at the 3V3 output. This normally supplies 3V3 for the embedded controller IT5571E-128 (U301). When measuring and analyzing with a thermal imaging camera, I found that some components are damaged: SLG4E42553VTR (U8500), IT5571E-128 (U301), LAN RTL8111H (U450), LOGIC 74LVC1G08GW (U1900), RT6575B (U6100) All these components are on...

Hi, since both the Dell Precision 3440 and the Precision 3450 have the same chipset W480.
I ask you if it is possible to add the correct microcodes for the Precision 3440.
I am adding the list of files that I have extracted from the Bios in order to help you understand if it is feasible.

                      Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Help with freemotion incline trainer with controller comm error
                      by ronnygracias
The treadmill was working fine, one day the belt snapped and after checking the unit I also noticed that the display is now showing the Controller comm error. So I opened it up and the treadmill had two boards. One is a power supply board and the other is the motor controller. I noticed there was a mouse nest, so I took power supply board out, cleaned it up, replaced the big capacitor and that did nothing. Then I took apart the motor controller and cleaned that up, and when I plugged it in, it started right up. I thought I fixed it. But when the belt arrived, I installed it and tried to power...

                      by sam_sam_sam
I recently bought a used tankless hot water heater and the controller board is completely dead no power up when power is applied the display board works however the main controller board does not work correctly at all the fuse is good

I bought a used replacement controller board that also had issues that I was able to fix and now the tankless water heater works correctly now

However I would like to know if I could figure what happened to this controller board if possible

Tomorrow I will take some better pictures of both side of both boards
