If they are legit Dell batteries it doesn't matter where you get them.
China is probably where Dell batteries are made anyway.
OTOH, greater chance of counterfeits from China.

we got a dell charger from china in bulk (PA-10)

one customer bought it back 80% melted. almost caught on fire

Ok so I bought a genuine Dell battery off the net and I have verified it's a genuine, not a fake one. It works great and it lasts for 2 hours or more which it is supposed to do... but the battery meter is screwed up for some reason. Right now, 1 hour and 40 minutes in and it's on 0 percent battery life... it's been on 0 percent for the last 20 minutes by the least but there's still lots of juice in the battery.

What's going on here?

Not really in the mood to send this battery back to the USA either, soo much postage costs and effort.

run it till the laptop shuts down and recharge.

Ok, I've done exactly what you said... hopefully it will solve the problem. What causes this anyway?

It actually lasted for nearly an hour after "0%" battery life came up LOL.
