    aged capicator truth

So, my father says if you use something electronic, and then don't use it for a long time, the capacitors can go bad. I know I did have this time when I bought a precision 360 from goodwill that looked in great condition, and had good caps. But after I loaded windows on it, it refused to boot, I opened it up and the caps had bloated within a period of days, it probably hasn't been powered in months

is this true? do caps or other components go bad from lack of usage?

      they will lose their "form"
i have reformed 50+ year old lytics by slowly increasing voltage and limiting current.

          Clarification on T2 ICloud unlock
          by Speedgeil
          Hello everyone,

my dear father passed away a year ago, leaving his 2020 Intel Macbook Air (A2179) behind. He also left notes on his passwords, which i tried when i wanted to reset the device. Apparently, i tried too often and i'm now left with a locked device, that only wants internet recovery and nothing else, saying that the password was used too often. I gave Apple a call, explaining the situation, but they refused to help.

I'm not that much of an Apple guy, but i can do some micro soldering. I read that replacing the T2 chip is an option. Others wrote that replacing...

If I remember correctly this indicates a battery failure the other day I had to turn off the power going down the driveway to do something and forgot to turn it back on and the battery went dead but it charged back up and I thought everything was okay but apparently not because now it refuses to close and the battery power light and the line power light goes off when you give it a request to do something I have had so many devices that the battery have gone bad I am sick of it...

Alienware 18, Nvidia GTX 880m presumably shorted
          by GTAVC16
          Hi guys!

I'm in need of some support so I can try to fix my laptop/gpu.
While I am a cerified automotive mechatronic, I have only basic understanding of electronics repair and identification.
I'd like to identify the issue and replace the specific component myself to learn about electronics and expand my skills a bit.
No better time than now, when my laptop, Alienware 18 from 2013, shut down when playing and refused to start again.
I know about electric diagnostics in and about cars, but I've never dabbled with electronics.
          However, I know...

          Alienware Area-51M R1 no power

          Hi everyone,

Long story: This laptop originally had a issue with a bricked bios because of downgrading and since then it did not want to work anymore. After some searching i found a bios dump of someone else their bios and i flashed it on my laptop with a CH341A programmer (volt modded to 3.3v) and i got it to work again.

I decided to downgrade the bios again (with recovery method) but ended up getting the same result. This time when i reflashed the chip it still refused to work. I also tried to flash the EC chip (W25Q80DVSIG) but no success. When trying to power on the...
