I did not yet buy any 1.8V ROM reader or a T203 because i don't know if it would justify the expense for this one time usage only.

my dear father passed away a year ago, leaving his 2020 Intel Macbook Air (A2179) behind. He also left notes on his passwords, which i tried when i wanted to reset the device. Apparently, i tried too often and i'm now left with a locked device, that only wants internet recovery and nothing else, saying that the password was used too often. I gave Apple a call, explaining the situation, but they refused to help.
