Hello,
I got a Clevo P150SM laptop that recently stopped working with the following specifications:
i7-4710MQ
2x8GB DDR3
GTX 980M 8GB MXM
250GB Sata SSD
Right before it stopped working it actually posted but froze when it was loading up windows. After i shutdown the laptop, it refused to post again. The laptop would power on without showing any display, the fans would go full speed after a few seconds of powering on and would shut itself down shortly after.
I tried the following things:
Using different ram sticks
Removed the MXM module
Removed the Sata SSD
CMOS Reset
Reflashed Bios and EC with a programmer
Re-apply thermal paste but same result
I decided to check the cpu vcore rail while powering the laptop on and vcore was 1.7v which seems high to me, hope someone can confirm if this is normal or not. I measured resistance on vcore and reads around 16 ohms. I tried powering on the laptop while using a thermal camera and noticed the cpu gets warm on one specific side only (right side). The rest of the die does not heat up at all. I'm suspecting my cpu died.
Anyone experienced something similar ?
