Re: kemet
Kemet has low impedance electrolytics?PeteS in CA
Power Supplies should be boring: No loud noises, no bright flashes, and no bad smells.

Re: kemet
I use kemet low impedence when I can't get nichicon or if the shape is more suitable. Haven't had any problems. I consider them pretty much on par with the top tier brands, but I'm not a pro.Comment

Re: kemet
Kemet electrolytics and polymers are low-tier Chinese products and should be avoided.
Their polymer caps are priced very competitively - but there's a reason for that. They are not on par with Japanese parts.
If you want Chinese/Taiwanese polymers, save your money and buy Apaq from LCSC.Comment

Re: kemet
Kemet's lytics, https://ec.kemet.com/aluminum/ , seem to be made in the EU, and the part numbers are reminiscent of Rifa's part numbering system for lytics. They don't have the low impedance low voltage parts I mistakenly had in mind.PeteS in CA

Re: kemet
The real problem with these types of issues (changing the amps) is not only the fact that it tend to be a little bit tricky to solve but also that the solution is always quite expensive.Comment

by StephenCustomer plugged in samsung monitor into the board and used it as a power supply, killed UG800 and UG400. I replaced those two with an exact donor board we had In stock and working, board pulls 5volts and then gets like 2.89 amps on the left side. The singular port is the port that failed. Used a perfectly working chips from donor (board was locked) Now I only get 5volts 0 amps on that power and then 20volts 0 amps on the two left side ports, I checked for DFU and nope nothing, computer not turning on. No shorts present anymore. I am confused as I used the exact components from an identical...

by Fisher8865Hi guys
I have a MacBook Pro A1990 that takes 4.9 Volts and .592 to .615 amps on one port. The other port on the left side power cycles with about the same amount of volts an amps but quickly power cycles. The same thing happens on the other side but opposite. So on the left side the bottom port stays on and on the right side it's the top one. I think it is a CD3215 chip but I am not sure how to test it or where to get one. I have checked for voltage at ppbus_g3h and it has 12.6 V which is also on fuses f7000 and f7001 I checked pp1v2_s3 and it has 1.2 V then... -
by tmcwHere's an unusual one...
This is a Gallenkamp oven, used in a laboratory space, goes up to 220 Celcius, but is usually maintained at about 115 Celcius. Used for drying glassware, molecular sieves, and so on. Oven is in excess of 20 years old.
It heats up fine, there is an orange light on the front that indicates that the unit is heating, and when it reaches the preset temp, the orange light goes out. All good so far.
However, after the preset temp is reached, the temperature continues to rise, power to the heating elements isn't cut off.

by foshlandHi to all, my motherboard (bought second hand as faulty, but now working after cleaning the ram slots) have a strange failure that shows 0 Celsius degrees in BIOS, because of that, the CPU goes to protection mode and gets stuck at 800Mhz.
Since its a 8-9 Intel generation, I know the CPU temp is the hottest temp of the cores (as i have read in intels documentation) so its not a diode or sensor on the board.
External temperature (motherboard temp) is working OK, 27ºC more or less
In windows, all the software I have tested shows correct the Core temps
