The capacitance is not normal for 40+ years cap even new capacitor don t measure like this.It is for low frequency there and the best is to replace with indentical value new cap same or better quality.For the film caps is all ok but if you like to upgrade with new better audio capacitors go on. -
After few days wait for some opinion from here i decided and i do the operation successfully.The processor sounds a lot smoother now order the caps for the other unit.Leave a comment:

EV dsp,replace the nippons lxz with nichicon fw ?
Hi guys.I have two EV dsp processors and before two years i do full recap to both. The units have before recup thousands hours running.On output input coupling caps (16 pieces) i solder nippon lxz series 100mf 63v (this time i don't have other stock) i know is low esr caps.Last week have found and order nichicon fw standard audio series.Is a good reason to replace the nippons lxz with nichicon fw ? The units get better sound? Or get worse?Thanks for any advice. -

i use the same elite caps to replace chong x on led moving heads on their primary smps before two years .til now is all ok.the board on the picture looks like the the primary side from tv smps.you can unsolder one or two and test on lcr. my lg flat tv use same form caps it is made to be thin there is no place for bigger caps.the vzs is nichicon general purpose audio capsLeave a comment:

i use a lots of FR PANASONIC NIPPON CHEM SMM-KMQ .NICHICON GU KEMMET and recently SAMXON WL and BC 136KO series all very good caps but i must say fr panasonics and bc is impressive.Leave a comment:

probably yes look at the traces on nearest cap if is together with the blowed cap.and for sure you have to replace all capacitors.and maybe is more damage do to exploded cap check all components around.Leave a comment:

actually no this one check with thermal camera only up to 45 degrees the main processor cooler and smal regulator on the right side.i own for years old samsung receiver gets so hot you can't touch it inside everywhere samyoung capacitors. i open one new box and now they use other brand caps KNSCHA instead of jwco.and all is 16v i read the specs and china factory give cuaranteed 10000 hours ������ they must be joking.like jwco wright on caps label very low esr��.anyway i solder new panasonics fr-fcLast edited by spiros.p; 05-03-2023, 09:54 PM.Leave a comment:

just open to clear from dust my one year old two receivers and get bad surprise all the jwco craps capacitors are leaking and extentent from down side.5 each unit 330mf 10-16v.just for quriosity i measure them and is 10 to 16mf.how the hell still working the receiver?ok the one of both sometimes stuck on boot and i have to restart.is mater of time to death both units.just fresh recaped and all good.... -

ev p1201 puzzle
the above amp it starts normaly but after few seconds or one hour goes in protect mode for 1 to 3 seconds.that happens when cold for few times and amp run ok for 1 or 2 hours then can go to protect again for once or few times for 1 to 3 sec.makes me mad i have resolder everything under board.i have unsolder one by one neasured and solder new one every time to check if problem fixed all smal to92s trans.i have replace all 1448 and bzx diodes.change few suspect resistors ..symetry is perfect dc on output is zero to 1mv.bias is perfect and stable all the voltages are present.on thermal camera i dont... -

not surprised by one 2000euros measuring instrument or lab psu and you see inside crap capxon or chang capacitors.take a look inside at motu expensive interfaces or 1000 + crown amp.or dell psus everyone cut the parts cost and the end user pay the bill.plus the destraction of the environment.they care only if you drink your coffee with recycled straw.only money matters nothing else.Leave a comment:
