PS: Capxon is still not acceptable either, 3300uF with either 8 or 10mm at 6.3V tend to be very tall especially where need for low ESR and high current ripple, this one is not that tall neither very fat.

Much better. Now I can say this is dubious claim to endorse this caps from our viewpoint of quality. Not acceptable.

They should take the plastic off and market it as audiophile capacitors.

                Chieftec APS-650C owners beware
                by mitchw
My trusty old Chieftec APS-650C decided to emit a pop and some smell few weeks ago. This happened when I pressed the power on button on the case.

                Upon examination I discovered:
                - No mains fuse blown, still drawing some little current from the mains
                - TNY278PN MOSFET almost shorted (about 90 ohms drain to source)
                - Primary of the 5VSB transformer open
                - 470uF 400V TEAPO mains smoothing capacitor reading only 5nF

I managed to repair it. First I repaired the blown transformer, the tiny wire coming out of the winding to the pin on the transformer...

RME Octamic II input circuit anyone
                by Andrealikescaps
                Hello Badcappers.
I just finished wasting time contacting RME for any useful information on the Octamic II preamp. We have been repairing these for some years (with no help from RME). These are expensive devices with cheap unreliable components inside. Caveat emptor.
Anyway, we are managing to repair them all the same, usually by replacing the dodgy switchmode power supply with something reliable, but recently I thought it would be nice to actually repair one of these devices, rather than replacing boards in them. A likely candidate came along with just one channel out of 8 showing...

Any Samsung Qled Bezeless Backlight repairs BEWARE
                by brucetv
We had to change our backlight repair policy to see if we can safely pull the new Samsung Qled panels with the Bezeless design due to the panel being held in with adhesive strips like Sony likes to do. The minute Yuppie Scum goes to mount that Tv over his FIREPLACE with a ambient temperature about 100 degree F or more he'll see that panel adhesive give way and start bowing like this fool. When I saw that I refused the repair and ran as fast as I could. We won't do backlight repairs on any Tv that does not have a bezel to hold the panel in. Look at the angle this fool had on this Tv and with that...

Trying to Revive - Eufy Security Wired Wall Light Cam S100 - No Power
                by KYBOSH

This found its way to my workbench this week.

                Wired Wall Light Cam S100

The buyer thought he got a great deal but it turns out it was likely dead and the seller tried to get anything they could for it by passing it off on an unsuspecting buyer.
Rather than tossing it in the bin he gave it to me to play with as he knows how much I love to try to solve problems like these.

The camera portion of this device worked fine when powered via USB but when on the mains it would not work at all.
This reminded me of the eufy floodlight...
