    Makita 440 Cap types?

    Hi Guys

I have a Makita 440 Vacum and when i was switching it on it wouldnt work but LEDS were on at switch

When i opened it up looked okay

The power is going to the switches okay, i tested the motor direct to 240v it is fine

So the only other bit is this small PCB and im a rookie and cant/wont pay £50 for a new board or $80

So was wanting to replace the capcitators, can anyone please let me know what the small cap types are at the top? and the big long one ive already removed?

So i can buy new caps and replace them,

Yes put brand new brushes in the last two looked okay also, thanks for the tip

Does anyone know the type of resistor and small caps at top??

        thanks again

All components you call capacitors and have given numbers in the photo in your OP are resistors.

Like everyone says, those are resistors.

You can grab a multimeter and measure the resistor you broke off.
You can desolder at least one leg of the other resistors and then measure those, or you can just figure out the value using the colors http://www.resistorguide.com/resistor-color-code/

The capacitors are the ones with code starting with C and they look fine from here.

Other points of failure could be that chip on the heatsink (with 3808 on it, which is probably mosfet or transistor or triac or something like that) and maybe that sot-223 chip with code TC1 (temperature compensation? maybe some temperature over-protection?)

The large resistor you cut out is 10W0r047J it is recommended to also check R18 3.9k

the yellow cap and r 1 thru 4 are failure prone.
that provides low voltage supply for the controller.
its simply clamped by a zener and filtered by a lytic.

BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for all youe AWESOME TIPS And replys guys, BIG THANK YOU

That has been so so helpful each reply has been very very helpful, the yellow cap prone to blowing and what its for THANKS Kv8adu for that

i seen that yellow cap in a youtube video! Thanks R J for the code for the large resistor i already ordered the yellow caps and wil now order the R18 and 10w0r047j

Okay i will order in new resistors but not sure what those top ones are but i will try the long one and yellow one first

Will update soon to let you and others know x

Ive already ordered the yellow ones but wanted to try and get new heatsink with 3808

                    and 10W0r047J and R18 3.9k

It looks like the triac is a BTB16-6008, If the original is bad, remove it from the heatsink and replace it.
Why don't you check the parts and see if they are bad instead of just replacing them?

Im so busy im building a new CNC Machine also, and a new board is £50

Also havent learnt yet how to do that, seen youtube videos but id be better replacing i think as at least then i know what bit were new etc

basically im new to soldering, and never tested a cap or resistor before, not yet

see the big yellow ones too big, not sure how i made that mistake

Most Displays I have worked with are of course LCD Or Blueish Fluorescent Types. I Have a Marantz PMD800 tuner with sort of a white display. The display area is a sealed rectangular shape in a Glass Case. Looks like some sort L.E.D. display only not your typical section number type. I picked up this Tuner cheap as the display is very Dim. In front of the circuit is a dull red Plastic lens.

The display is very week and hard to see. I've got my DC 5 Volts allover and also a DC 32 Volt that runs some other section. Power supply looks good front to back. Not familiar with this type...

                                          Hi all,

sometimes i'm in need of a charger / tester for very small batteries and even if my multimeter doesn't show anything there is a chance that a smart charger helps to revieve. I'm happy with my Keenstone smartcharger and i made a small mod just to use it with smaller batteries like in smartwatches or even camera batteries with special contacts.

Soldering wires on the charger contacts and using needles as probes. I covered both with a shrink hose with integrated solder.
My first work was to bring my Samsung watch battery back to life with was not recognized...

                                          Hi,
I’m looking for a schematic and/or board view for the DSH680 circular saw.
I’ve knocked off a few components whilst removing the coating on the board and don’t know what they were or their values.
                                          Thanks

                                          Types of electrolytic caps
                                          by Askic
                                          Hello guys,

can you explain me what type of caps is the one shown in the attached picture. Is is different from so called classical one. I have taken a photo of these caps next to each other. The data written on the cap is 22 uF, 50V, PH, 116, H1 KO H1.

On many motherboards there are different types of electrolytic caps. These look more robust (probably aluminium capacitor).

Do they have some special purpose?
I have one 22 uF, 50V so called robust cap and other "classical", the same capacity and 63V, but smaller dimensions....

                                          Hi all

Trying to take this thing apart & there are 2 screws buried deep in the back of unit .

Look like torx of hexagonal heads .

Can anyone help with type & size of driver required ?
