    help identify capacitor

i have have just replaced a leaky surface mount type electro cap that i assumed was 33uf 6v by the markings on top of the original cap which were loke this.
since replacing this cap the disk drive has got worse not better which makes me wonder if i read the value wrong.
what value was this original cap?

    33
    6v
    36A

The capacitor I replaced it with has these markings:

    33
    6.s
    Y23

The values are correct . But it seems your leaky capacitor is a victim to an ageing hard disk , if it is mechanical . What type you have exactly ?

Its actually a 3.5" 720k floppy disk drive. I seemed to have sorted it by removing the new SMD capacitor I fitted and substituting it with a traditional radial leaded components instead. I could have sworn I soldered the SMD cap in correctly but its not easy to see with these things. Anyway thanks but its working again now. cheers.

Just wondering, what need do you have for a floppy disk drive? Perhaps an older motherboard for flashing the BIOS?

Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition

          Title:
Capacitor detached from PCB – RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition

          Description:
During maintenance on an RTX 2070 SUPER Founders Edition, I found a capacitor lying on my desk after reassembly.
I did not notice it detaching, so I am unsure of its original location on the PCB.

          Procedure performed:
          - Removed backplate
          - Cleaned heatsink and PCB with isopropyl alcohol + soft ESD brush
          - Reapplied thermal compound
          - Reassembled card

          Observed behavior after reassembly:
          - GPU powers on and operates normally under...

Help to identify a laptop mainboard SMD capacitor LA-9982P
          by BlackBurn
          Hello everyone,

I have an Dell Inspiron 15 3537 laptop mainboard (LA-9982P Rev. 3.0 (A02)) with a blown SMD capacitor as shown in the attached images. However, there is no printed specifications near the capacitor or a codename for the capacitor to identify the specification of the capacitor to replace it. I wonder how to identify the capacitor since the mainboard schematics are also useless as the capacitors are not named on the board. Any help would be highly appreciated.

          Thank You. Stay Safe.

Dick Smith Q-1760 linear power supply filter capacitor question
          by Agent24
I have acquired a used Dick Smith Q-1760 power supply - although the OEM is Manson Industrial
It has at least one problem.

The voltage control potentiometer VR2, 50K is faulty - going high resistance / open circuit in the CCW end and leading to the output voltage jumping around.
I have already ordered a replacement potentiometer, so that's not an issue.

Now, I want to replace all three electrolytics on the PCB as they are CapXon and I don't trust them so much, I will replace them with something better while I've got the thing apart anyway.
          All are CapXon...

If I replace with inferior capacitor, Is it No harm to other IC components at all?
          by chth96
I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...
