Replacing arcade monitor capacitors - recap

Hello peeps, I'm wanting to replace the capacitors on my CRT arcade monitor in hopes to get more punch/brightness out of the picture.

My question is other than matching uF and voltage should I pick capacitors with comparatively higher lifetime hours and at least a 105°C Operating Temperature? Should I concern myself with Ripple Current spec?

use high temperature parts in that.
        like panasonic NHG

and inspect all the soldering - including under the edge of the metal frame overhang.

cant hurt to recap but its probably a soft crt.arcade crt's usually have a million hours on them.
if b+ is low heaters will be too.but to be that low you would also have 4 sided shrink too.
iirc those have a 270k resistor that when it opens pulls g1 negative.part of the abl.
its near the fly.will be black till you crank up g2.

might sound stupid, but have you cleaned the front of the tube?
they build up a layer of very fine black dust like a tint.

So taking a 1uF 250V for example (two of to be replaced for this chassis), if I cant get the Panasonic below then the Nichicon is a good choice and maybe preferable based on spec?

              Panasonic (NHG) ECA-2EHG010I lifetime temp 2000 Hrs @ 105°C

              Nichicon UPM2E010MPD1TD lifetime temp 3000 Hrs @ 105°C

Also I take it its worth taking the time to measure the original Lead/wire spacing distance and choosing capacitors that match closely?

              .
The glass has already been cleaned ; )

@kc8adu thanks for responding though I'll have to decode your message further as my electronics knowledge is very basic.

lead pitch normally only matters on larger caps,
but given modern caps are smaller, you will have to do some leg bending anyway.

Re: Replacing arcade monitor capacitors - recap

I also have one other CRT arcade monitor a Kortek KTH-F and I've just complied a capacitor list for that (Samyoung SMS & SM series).

My only reservation now when selecting replacement capacitors is the ripple current spec, the quote below is from another forum

"Try to get capacitors with similar ESR and ripple current ratings as well. Many people think the lower the ESR, the better, but many TV circuits will be unstable if the ESR is too low."

                  Please advise?

higher ripple handling is fine, lower is bad

Monitor Audio RSW12 - Green light but no audio
                      by MOSSEP
                      Hi

Im hoping someone might be able to give me some idea of what may be wrong with my Monitor Audio RSW12 Sub.

Ive owned it since new in around 2002, so would really like to keep it running if I can, it was the first ‘decent' bit of audio equipment I ever purchased and is a little sentimental.

The issue I had was that it would power up with the red light, but sometimes the green light would not come on and I would get no bass from it. If the green light did come on though, I would get sound out of it.

I have already tried replacing all of the...

                      AOC AG493UCX 49-inch monitor - Firmware request
                      by wattage
                      Hello Badcaps Community,

I purchased a preowned AOC monitor that is not working and out of warranty. It was sold as not working. I am looking for guidance on self-repair. In particular, I am after the firmware for the monitor. At the end, I have included monitor model information and links to pics and vids of the issue.

The problem is that it will not display a picture on any of its inputs. And the on-screen menu does not appear. The power button works properly. It powers on with the remote as well. But the on-screen menu does not appear, even when not connected to any...

Replacing capacitors on a 12v 5000w Pure Sine Inverter .
                      by Tyran
Greetings folks. I darn near blew the heck out of my 12V inverter the other day by connecting it to a 24V battery source. :poof . Well lesson learned...... or maybe not . But in the meantime I have 4 Capacitors that need immediate replacing each rated at 16V 3300uf and 105deg. I saw a break down review You Tube video where the host suggested that the 35V Capacitors were a better choice for manufacturers to use. Another video suggested that replacing capacitors of higher Voltage is fine but that the 3300uf rating should be kept the same. Can someone please clarify what the functional benefits...

                      Hi Everyone

Lately I am experiencing the deja-vu incident on one of the led monitor like this.
                      https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...lashing-on-off

The monitor is HP 27es LED Monitor

The monitor will randomly blackout and display no signal and will recover again.
Sometimes need to power and off again to restore the display but...

Help with replacing Capacitors on Altec Lansing ATP 3
                      by yuzupatogik
                      Hello,
I have this old (2004?) Altec Lansing ATP3 and i would like to replace the capacitors. I have identified 34 out of the 36 of them as Samxon GR of various capacities and voltages.

I can't find datasheets for the Samxon in any of the following variants:

10000uF 25 v - this one i really want to replace because i suspect it is what causes a dull hum regardless of the volume knob position or if the source is plugged in. I am eyeballing the Rubycon 25PK10000MEFCGC18X35.5 for this purpose. So if i pay a 10x the price part for shipping i might as well go ahead and...
