Re: Replacing arcade monitor capacitors - recap
I also have one other CRT arcade monitor a Kortek KTH-F and I've just complied a capacitor list for that (Samyoung SMS & SM series).
My only reservation now when selecting replacement capacitors is the ripple current spec, the quote below is from another forum
"Try to get capacitors with similar ESR and ripple current ratings as well. Many people think the lower the ESR, the better, but many TV circuits will be unstable if the ESR is too low."

Re: Replacing arcade monitor capacitors - recap
So taking a 1uF 250V for example (two of to be replaced for this chassis), if I cant get the Panasonic below then the Nichicon is a good choice and maybe preferable based on spec?
Panasonic (NHG) ECA-2EHG010I lifetime temp 2000 Hrs @ 105°C
Nichicon UPM2E010MPD1TD lifetime temp 3000 Hrs @ 105°C
Also I take it its worth taking the time to measure the original Lead/wire spacing distance and choosing capacitors that match closely?

Replacing arcade monitor capacitors - recap
Hello peeps, I'm wanting to replace the capacitors on my CRT arcade monitor in hopes to get more punch/brightness out of the picture.
My question is other than matching uF and voltage should I pick capacitors with comparatively higher lifetime hours and at least a 105°C Operating Temperature? Should I concern myself with Ripple Current spec?Hello peeps, I'm wanting to replace the capacitors on my CRT arcade monitor in hopes to get more punch/brightness out of the picture.
