Actually I was more hoping for a quality replacement because we've replaced this MANY times and they just keep breaking

Unlike usual capacitors on psu im not sure what to search for

"Unlike usual capacitors on psu im not sure what to search for" Motor run capacitor.
I do not know what you have available in your country.
What kind of unit is it used in, Voltage? It is only 3uF so must be a small motor.

Re: need suggestions replacing large capacitor

Those different voltages seem to indicate shorter hours of operation as the voltage increases so I'd try to find a higher voltage cap so that the hours of operation are near or at the lowest rating. Did I read 400V / 1000hours, 500V / 120 hours?

                no, 400v 10,000 hours,
                500v 1000 hours

that's still nothing when you do the division.
                1000/24(hours in a day) = about 40days!!!!

an air conditioner compressor unit, and they charge me about $40 for each replacement

                  its quite costly

its been at least 3 times now theyve been replaced unless.... they are taking me for a ride.
