    Missing capacitor

    Hi guys
I have bought an Intel d865 perl motherboard but a capacitor near the agp fets is missing (C6F10).Does anyone know what capacitor is?
    Thank you for your help

    post a pic.
not all pads are filled depending on board and parts on hand.

That pic is a bit blurred, but it certainly looks like there was a capacitor in there once, not just solder pads. In fact, it looks like the capacitor was physically ripped off the board with some force, leaving the legs and a tiny bit of the insides behind!

Check the other capacitors in the vicinity - chances are, it'll be the same capacitor as one of the other nearby ones, connected in parallel. But just to be safe, find someone else who has the same board to check what capacitor should go in there.

The 'unfilled holes' that kc8adu mentioned are like the ones at the bottom right of that picture.

Yes it is ripped off, what happened to this motherboard is what you mentioned.

              Re: Missing capacitor

Cant help you directly with value of cap, hopefully someone here will know for sure

              If you are desperate

At a guess , looking at the diameter of the silk screen overlay its probably the same value as the smaller one near it

Looks like someone has been digging at the Vid connector which is possibly why it got ripped off.

I would check (with a mag glass) to be sure no other damage was done to the surface mounted components near by, or pcb

You could possibly varify the voltage rail by doing a point to point (resistance continuity measurement) with a multi meter to see which rail (5V 12V whatever) it was hanging across.
(to help work out what it might have been and as a safety measure so you don't use a lower voltage cap across a higher voltage)

As above, caps tend to be in groups of values and voltage so the overlay diameter can be a bit of a guide.

Better thought if someone does know the value and can post

              HTH Cheers

The Intel web site for this card has a neat 3-D image of the board. I still can't make out the cap, but give it a look.

There actually is another current thread in the badcap forums on this board. The original poster misidentified it as a D965PERL. Maybe you can ask him to identify the cap:

Yes! it turned out to be a 25v 100uf capacitor! Now is working flawlessly!Thank you!

PS5 Edm-010 No Power - Help identifying missing capacitor
                          by krob80
Hey everyone. I recently acquired a PS5 that is not turning on (no beep/power). PSU is good and there is no shorting on the 12V rail.
It came with a Gen3 SSD installed so I feel that things went down hill for the previous owner when it was installed. F7003 was blown but there was nothing shorting to ground. I replaced the fuse but still no power (new fuse is still good for now).
When connecting it to a bench power supply, it only pulls 10 mA (doesn't spike when first connected).
I noticed that there are a couple capacitors missing from the Vcore power regulator (pictures attached)....

                          RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor
                          by Prolog
Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

Capacitor missing on GTX 1050 TI 4GT OC - Need help
                          by fab13
Hello everyone and happy to post a message, I have an MSI GTX 1050 ti 4gt oc and at any time the card gives me a black screen and then nothing.

Even when trying to install windows for example at startup, the card started to make a black screen.

I have not yet tried to take measurements but I have observed a missing capacitor which is impossible to find on the boarview and seems nonexistent for this one or diagram.
In addition, my thermal camera shows an overheating of 40 degrees at this location.

                          I show you a photo named (InkedGTX 1050 GOOD_LI)...

If I replace with inferior capacitor, Is it No harm to other IC components at all?
                          by chth96
I replaced some capacitor which is located on optical pickup pcb which is shown in the table below(PCB #2).Because it have been out of order.
Now,It works very well,But I just have found that all caps (6svpc100my and other part number as well) ,which is shown in the table below, has ultra-high ripple current spec.
It is not able to obtain any capacitor which can be a substitute for this ultra-high ripple current nichicon capacitor.
So I replaced it with samxon and rubycon's general capacitor(GP,YXA series).
I know that these capacitor will not last as long as nichicon capacitor...

Help identifying missing smd capacitor for HP elitebook 840 g3
                          by Ambro
In an unfortunate mishap while attempting to read from the bios chip, one of the smd capacitors took flight and disappeared.

I'm not sure how crucial this smd capacitor is, but it was a brown possibly ceramic one with no notable markings on it anywhere.

I've attached a picture of where it's located on the board.

Does anyone have an HP elitebook 840 g3 who might be able to aid me identifying this component. I'm not sure how crucial it is, but didn't want to risk it.

Thank you for any help you can provide....
