I've seen that before on rare occasions (where the teapos get outlasted by fuhjyyu).
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Maybe because the quality of the Fuhjyyus was so bad that all the other capacitors had to stem all the ripple & noise and so were out of spec which caused them to fail?

I voted average. Because they aren't up par with the Japanese caps. My 7 year old Athlon 64 x2 4000+ PC has a Hipro PSU which the caps are STILL good!

Well I also saw PSU's with bad Teapo's (Most of them were dusty and the fan was failing). They are OK in well cooled PSU's, like my 7 y.o. computer.

I'd still take Teapo over the other cheap brands, if stores would even sell "brand name" caps in the first place. Jaycar Australia mainly sells unknown brands like S.I., Suntan and Topcon (there was at least one box with Hitano caps as well), at least from my local store.

                        Re: Teapo

I would rate Teapo's at the higher end of the bad cap brands. They're still a bad cap brand, but just the fact that people here are arguing over them should give you an idea that they're better then Capaxon, or Rulycon, or Jamicon.

If there was a border line for good caps and bad caps, I would put Teapo just slightly south of that border. You can use them for probably a couple years in a high heat setting, whereas I wouldn't trust a Capaxon or Jamicon to make it 6 months.

EDIT: I probably should add that Teapo and Fuhjyu caps are both about as common as each other around here
The very fact that Teapos are in a given device is enough for me. Like whoever spec'd them "boasts" about being cheap.

Sort of like "Evercon." Ever Con? Always. Though those are worse than Teapo...

I replace them immediately. In the rare instance something new has them, they get replaced. Not like that happens much, since I buy, repair and use, mostly older equipment.

CapXon is the new Fuh-juju, while Teapos will at least let the device operate long enough till the good caps come in.

hey all, iv got my favourite battery charger here which iv had for many years probably 15 years now or maybe even more. it still works good but thought id open it up to clean the dust out of it, lots of dust inside but now its clean and noticed 4 capacitors inside it and wondered if i should replace them.
                                  it has inside:

Sparkle Power Int. LTD. FPS400-60GN (REV 1) – recapping (with cap list)
                                  by momaka
As mentioned in the build quality pictorial thread for this PSU, I got a Sparkle Power / SPI FPS400-60GN for recapping. The unit had only one failed cap: a Teapo SC 16V, 3300 uF on the 12V rail. All other output caps were okay. But since pretty much every cap in this PSU was a Teapo (and SC series for the output rails), and since the owner requested a full recap, that’s what I did.

Here is a full list of the electrolytic capacitors found in this PSU (minus the big input-side primaries):
                                  * 3.3V rail [capacitors C24 & C25]: 2x Teapo SC, 10V, 6800 uF, 12.5 x 40 mm ^^...

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

I am trying to test the capacitors to diagnose the machine and then select replacement capacitors but I can not find any datasheets for them. I did find a Elna catalogue from 2007-2008 but there is no mention of this capacitor series. Where these specially made for Panasonic and so not made available to the public? Any ideas what to find out what the ESR values should be without the datasheets? They are all between 10V and 50V and 47uF and 1800uF.
