Bad Samxons, and they're NOT GFs!

Cracked open an Acer V173b, symptoms are a flashing orange light. Found two bloated Samxon GKs (these aren't GFs, but are hunter green like them). Anyone else ever encounter bad Samxon GKs? I always though the GF was their lemon

Looking through my stash of bad capacitors, I see Samxon GK as well as GF. GF are "known" to be bad.

Re: Bad Samxons, and they're NOT GFs!

I only trust the GD, GC, and RS series. I avoid the rest.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

I have had KF Samxons die, too. In an LG LCD TV. In general, I don't like them much - too iffy on reliability.

Can I replace KME cap with Samxon GF cap?
            by chth96
            Hello.
I have 29inch LG CRT TV,And Yesterday,Whenever I connect AC power cord to power outlet without switch on, I heard a sound like white noise, And When I switched on this CRT TV, It sometime displayed correctly But usually It won't last more than 20 minute and The screen begin to dark and It finally did not display at all for hours..
Today,I dismantled its plastic case and discharged the biggest capacitor(400wv 470uf) which still holds 250 voltage, and I finally detached PCB from cathode-ray tube.
I measured ESR value of most of caps in PCB with MESR-100 and I found that KME(25v...

            Hi all,
            I need your advice.
-SAMXON 2200uf 50V tested 0.00 esr on Dick Smith Blue Esr meter and 2027 ohm on FLUKE 179 multimeter.
            -Is this esr reading realistic?
            Thank you

LG L1715s with failed Samxon GF

Found monitor on my way home sitting on the pavement.

This monitor stopped working due to Samxon GF failing.

One of the caps even changed color to black from overheating. Notice that even the rubber bangs deformed from venting/overheating

It is just stupid to put caps right above secondary rectifiers and heatsink that get very hot during monitor operation.

Those 17" monitors can be found in working condition for less than 10 euros or even for free!

So, I recapped it using terrible caps and tried to install extra...

Modern Samxon and Teapo caps much better these days?
            by jayjr1105
I pull a buch of (Teapo, Samxon, Ltec, Taicon, etc.) caps from older power supplies and they always check out very low ESR and capacitance in spec. Are chinese caps much better than they used to be?

            Need replacements for Samxon HP
            by Uranium-235
I've been looking through all the best brands (rubycon, nichicon, UCC) with little success (edit, I mean I find them out of stock, or only stocked in other countries). Is there a mid-range brand for these

            Must be:
            315v-400v
            470uf (560 maybe)
            1.7ARMS
            30mm diameter max
            40mm height max

Mid-range caps are fine and you guys are up to date on other brands

for: Plasma TV main power board

I know some are bloated and I plan to replace as many as I can
