I have a Lenovo here that does not want to power on. The motherboard appears to be clean, no sign of corrosion or obvious fried components. When plugged in, I see 3 blinking lights and then off. It would cycle the 3 blinking lights every 10 seconds or so as long as I have the adapter plugged in. Amp meter shows 20 volts, 0.224 amps, no fan spin, red light indicator near the charge port.

unit is a : Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 GE4B0 motherboard with the infamous QB6 mosfet de soldering off the board, however the usb c port was replaced by another shop not know the common issue. I replaced the qb6 with a AON7466 however the UB7 started to get really hot and unit would not turn on. I then replaced the UB7 and QB5. I now get 0V on VINT20_IN_F and VINT20_IN on both sides of F6106, however when I inject 12v on either side the unit boots up. Can this be an issue with the USB-C port not soldered properly? I so get 20V 0.039A on the usb-c meter. [TABLE]

Lenovo Thinkpad E14 Gen 3, stuck on the "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter" screen.

I am currently working on the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 with a GE4B0 motherboard.

Issue: The laptop runs on battery power, but it fails to recognize the charger. The LED1 indicator does not illuminate in white or orange when the charger is connected.

My investigation:

1. LB4709 and LB4708 both register 20V.

2. UE1:
Pin 34 ACIN_LED measures 0V at R31.
Pin 11 VCC_LPC_ESPI registers 0.27V.

3. +3VL_EC at R42532 and various other locations, following the schematics, measures 1.7V.
