Apologies for the forum outages / changes

Apologies to everyone on the forum. We had to upgrade for security reasons with the previous version of vbulletin. Unfortunately we had made so many customizations that it has been a true nightmare to get back up and running.

    More updates to follow...
User submitted datasheet, schematic, boardview, service manual, firmware, bios, & software.

I also thank you, it would be nice to have a heads up notice prior to working on the site, now that we know further updates are coming we don't have to guess what is happening.
Thanks again and hopefully thing work out

No need to apologise, thanks for keeping the forum running!

A post I added yesterday seems to have been lost in the Ethernet. Google shows it but it directs to a different one.

It was supposed to be here: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/genera...con-tmv-series
But now a different thread shows up. The post is not listed in my account anymore.

            Auto Power-On After Outages: Advice?
            by cassius
I'm looking for ways to ensure that my desktop computer automatically powers on once the power is restored after an outage. I've heard suggestions about shorting the front panel I/O connector on the motherboard or shorting the SMPS 20/24 pin to accomplish this. However, I'm uncertain if these methods are both effective and safe.

            Help a noob! Wson8 Pogo/Needle Adapters to read/Write
            by Doesronnieevenlift
            Hi all,

I had recently tried to reflash the bios on a dell latittude that has a Wson8 Chip however to no avail.

My question is, Has anyone had much success using the Pogo/Needle adapters to read and write bios without removing the chip from the main board?

I seem to struggling with the solder process wofh my reflow station and currently have 4 machines waiting for a bios mod/reflash.

For context I have just ordered a EZP2019 SPI flash so this is what I would be using alongside the Pogo Adapter.

Apologies if this is the wrong subcategory....

            XPS 15-9530 faulty board LA-L663P
            by eastcoastcomputing
            Hi there,

Sorry for the double post: I also posted in the Schematics only but couldn't find how to delete the post and I'm apparently not allowed to edit it... My apologies

I'm trying to get the schematics and BV for a Dell XPS 15 9530 (motherboard: LA-L663P)... Can anyone help?

The board powers up for a couple of seconds (the on/off light on the side of the board comes on, no display, no fans rev, no Dell LED code) then shuts down (the on/off light on the side of the board goes off), no liquid damage, no obvious damage to individual components...

Please Help , Asus Zenbook Motherboard repair
            by roxboy1984
Please could someone help or advise me. I have an Asus Zenbook UX305UA that I am trying to repair. I'm still a newbie but I'm learning. Under a thermal cam I noticed that the TI 1285A IC is getting very hot. I checked the resistances to ground of all the pins connected to this chip, and found that pin 3 has a very low resistance of 1.8Ohms so I checked the Ceramic cap which is next in line, on continuity mode and the cap appears to be shorted. This is a 4.7uF 6.3V capacitor. My question is, do I need this cap? can I jump it? I have some donor boards laying around. What Cap would be an ok replacement...

Schematic vs. Reality: Where Are the Resistors on My Sharp Clock Radio? Model FY-70CH
            by TinkerTron
            Hey everyone,

I'm currently working on a mid-70s Sharp Electronic Digital Clock Radio, Model FY-70CH. I found the service manual online, printed it out, and have been studying it for a while. My main reasons for tackling this are: (1) I want to learn electronics and figured I'd start with something I had on hand, and (2) I want to fix its issues. Right now, the radio sounds awful, has about 5V DC at the speaker terminals, and the alarm time setting doesn't work. But I'm not asking how to fix these problems.

Instead, here's what's been bugging me so far:
            The schematic...
