Please could someone confirm this for me. I have the following donor board that I'm looking for the necessary donor capacitor on. If I'm reading correctly the Cap "PC4723"on the Dell board would be a sufficient replacement for the Asus board?

Please Help , Asus Zenbook Motherboard repair
Please could someone help or advise me. I have an Asus Zenbook UX305UA that I am trying to repair. I'm still a newbie but I'm learning. Under a thermal cam I noticed that the TI 1285A IC is getting very hot. I checked the resistances to ground of all the pins connected to this chip, and found that pin 3 has a very low resistance of 1.8Ohms so I checked the Ceramic cap which is next in line, on continuity mode and the cap appears to be shorted. This is a 4.7uF 6.3V capacitor. My question is, do I need this cap? can I jump it? I have some donor boards laying around. What Cap would be an ok replacement...

When you say works ok on adapter voltage, do you mean i should inject 19v using bench supply.

Thanks, as always your help is much appreciated. So there is no other way of testing to see if things are still ok and the problem lies elsewhere?...

please help with LA-D451P Board repair
Hi,
I know this is probably going to be a very noob question but i have this board that someone has worked on already and im trying to troubleshoot. the previous person soldered wires at "pci1026" for voltage injection and if I inject 2.5V @ 2Amp the CPU gets very hot. does this mean the CPU is likely fried? also it looks like multiple components have been removed from the area where the wires are soldered? any help is massively appreciated....

Do you by chance know the Vendor of the "K2L31" ? or possibly have a boardview for the LA-H931P?...

Donor IC question?
Hi Guys, I have a Dell XPS 13” laptop that I’m trying to repair. If I look at the board with a thermal cam. The following component “3W=Q2W” which looks like a voltage regulator is getting very hot. So my question is. Can I swop it out with this one. “K2L31”? I can’t seem to find any data sheets. Please see pics for reference. Thanks for any help or advice....

Thanks so much for the reply. It’s a discreet graphics. I haven’t actually checked the connector for corrosion. I just found it strange that if it were the connector then surely the current screen would work on a different machine which it didn’t. I will open it up and have a look under a scope and get the motherboard part number.
