Donor IC question?
Hi Guys, I have a Dell XPS 13” laptop that I’m trying to repair. If I look at the board with a thermal cam. The following component “3W=Q2W” which looks like a voltage regulator is getting very hot. So my question is. Can I swop it out with this one. “K2L31”? I can’t seem to find any data sheets. Please see pics for reference. Thanks for any help or advice....

Thanks so much for the reply. It’s a discreet graphics. I haven’t actually checked the connector for corrosion. I just found it strange that if it were the connector then surely the current screen would work on a different machine which it didn’t. I will open it up and have a look under a scope and get the motherboard part number.

Re: Advice needed please Lenovo Ideapad 5
Thanks for your message. I am still learning but I have managed to do a few short repairs myself as well as with help from the forum.
One of the issues I'm having is identifying the chip with the hole burnt in it as I can't see the markings to read it as well as what its function is? Sorry I'm sure these are very obvious questions, I'm just trying to use whatever sources of info at my disposal to try and learn....

I have the following laptop that has died. There was a short as you can see in the pics. I am still a noob so if someone could advise whether they think this is repairable and what that IC is that is burnt as i cant make it out completely. I think there is also a Cap or something missing from "LG11" thanks for any help or advice.

Re: LG 47LV3530-TK TV Not Powering on
Thanks for the reply. I also had a look at the main logic board under a thermal cam and the main BGA Chip and what looks like a small transistor seem to be getting very hot. i cant even touch the BGA chip its so hot. Do you think the main logic board has failed?...

Re: LG 47LV3530-TK TV Not Powering on
After unplugging the AC and Disconnecting the cable to the main logic board and taking the voltage measurements again the voltages are as follows. None of the voltages are present and both the 3.5V lines are fluctuating like crazy.
N.C Error = 0V
12V PWM = 0V
12V N.C = 0V
12V DRV - ON = 0V
GND VSYNC = 0V
GND GND = 0V
3.5V 3.5V = Fluctuating up and down
3.5V 3.5V = Fluctuating up and down
GND GND = 0V
GND GND = 0V
24V 24V = 0V
PWR-ON 24V = 0V

Re: LG 47LV3530-TK TV Not Powering on
As seen in the Pic attached i also have the following voltages present.
N.C Error = 0V
12V PWM = 12V
12V N.C = 12V
12V DRV - ON = 12V
GND VSYNC = 0V
GND GND = 0V
3.5V 3.5V = 3.5V
3.5V 3.5V = 3.5V
GND GND = 0V
GND GND = 0V
24V 24V = 24V
PWR-ON 24V = 3.5V...

LG 47LV3530-TK TV Not Powering on
Hi,
Please could someone assist. Ive never tried to repair a TV before so please bare with me, Any advice is appreciated.
My LG TV wont power on and the standby light is also off. Ive checked the Standy voltage and is present and steady 3.3V. Does this mean the power board is ok and problem lays with the Main logic board?

Re: Bios needed HP 290 G2
Hi Guys, Im facing a similar issue and would appreciate any advice or help. I tried the clean bios listed earlier and the machine booted but now its not turning on again. It seems to turn on intermittently.
I have removed the Cmos battery and when I insert the power cable the fans spin and then stop and then spin again and stop and eventually just stop. If i remove and reconnect the power cable the fans will spin again but even less times until eventually reinserting the power cable shows no sign of life at all.
Does anyone...
