well i have tried to complete my mission of fixing this tv, but finally gave up.

The Z board makimg the noise was most likely the board that was still working. The board on the far left (Y board) is what most likely failed.

Caution 400+ volts here

so where would i start to see where the problem is in that board. I appreciate all help. if someone could maybe guide me through what steps to take i think that i could do it. like the hp pavillion you all helped me fix.

that "sound" can be deceiving. I had the PDP50X3 Y-sustain with both IPMs blown, still make the "buzz-saw" sound. just very weak.

Scope waveforms reveal all...
