Hi, i came across an olevia 242-s11 that had previous caps replaced in the power supply. Then after a while the same problems started to occur. When you first turn on the tv. I flashes and has horizontal and vertical lines. When nothing is plugged in to the inputs i get a regular blue screen that say no signal and all seems to be normal. Once it stays on for half our or so it is fine. When i took it apart it had four blown caps. Two on each inverter board. Once all soldered with new ones it did not fix the tv. Should i replace all the other caps even though they are not blown. Thank you. -

Hello took the jack of and re-soldered it. HA HA it powered on. Now I have alot of vertical lines and then goes blank. Is this trash or is there another remedy for this.Leave a comment:

I've got this monitor that has no power. I took it apart and measured ohms on C102, L35, F3, and L16. When I got to C103 I did not get my 3ohm reading I got nothing. Should I go ahead and replace this? I have posted pics of the enire board and another one zooming on the area I first was working on. Thank you all for the help.... -

Hello I re-read instructions and figured out the right way to copy iso. I can now access the administrator file. Thank you for your help and patience. I plan on giving this to my mother in-law. Is there any way of restoring this Acer Aspire 3000 to original settings? With out any discs. I know on my dell it's f11 or something like that.Leave a comment:

I can still control mouse sensor and key board unitll I get to the log on screen. That when it all freezes. I can still get to the f2 menu and control all of those things. If this doesn't workd is there anyway to just do a system restore without the recovery discs. I know on my dell you push ctrl and f10 I think and it gives you the restore menuLeave a comment:

the computer is fine. In the website for the file it state on FAQ that when you install cd it can make mouse and keyboard not work. It also states that there is no fix for it.
When I downloaded the file into my working computer I unzipped the file and then burned onto a disc then set the bios to load cd rom firs then hdd. It should load it up from there correct. However it doesn't load the disk.Leave a comment:

Ok so now I got the thing to turn on. Now I am at the login page. How can I bypass the administrator password. I've tried contol+alt+delete and it still asks for passwork even when left blank. Safe mode doesnt work either.Leave a comment:

Technics sa-gx650
I have this technics audio video receiver. I was at the thrift store looking for another receiver as my wife had chucked my previous one(the klh r5100 on other post). I only paid 6.00 for it as it was broken. When i plugged it in at the goodwill it would play any sound. When i came home i tried again. Then once i started pressing the other aux audio buttons it started working again. I've had it for a week and still no problems. Should i be worried it will break again or would it be ok. I listen to it just about everyday. -

Thanks for the input. I was focusing to much on the jack. I replace the little cap 79 and turned right on. i was able to but a soldering gun. station for 30 bucks. Which works better then the 7.00 soldering iron from fred meyer. lolLeave a comment:

Acer aspire 3000 broken power jack
I was working on getting a new power jack on my laptop no problem. When I got to soldering my pins and finished my ac power cord makes a whinning noise like the positive and negative are touch. I bought some solder remover at radio shack. The pics show how much I was able to take off. I also tried grounding to one of the screws on the board and still makes the sound. Will I need a new board or is the still fixable?

Greetings to all i have a klh receiver that when i push the power button it turns on but shuts off. I hear the first click and the second click turns off. I took these pics of the boards. Its raining here in seattle and lighting was an issue. When i disconnect the colored ribbon the receiver stays on. The ribbon is the one in the pic. So i have figured that much out. My tools that i have are limited to a craftsman multimeter and a soldering iron. I would like to fix this and am up to the challenge if someone would guide me through this. I have successfully fixed and hp pavilion monitor, samsung... -

Gateway fpd1975w has one vertical line on right side
I have this monitor listed above that has one vertical line on the right side of screen. I bought it at a yard sale for ten dollars becuase it would turn on and off for a couple minutes then it would be fine I replaced caps thanks to the info posted here. All was good until this line showed up. Is it stil fixable I only spent ten bucks plus five for the caps that i had to replace. I wouldnt mind spending some more if it stil has a solution. -

hello everyone i have done all checks points for vs,va,vset, and i got all good numbers. i checked all my fuses. My next question is where would i check to see if my y main board is working or x main board. I also have visualy inspected boards to see any burnt or damaged parts/blown caps and havent seen any. I posted an ad on CL in my area to see if anyone has a tv thats the same so i can replace parts. I would like to learn and try to replace what parts are needed replaced in the boards themselves.Leave a comment:
