    SAMSUNG UN50F600 Panel short

    Hello all, I have a presumably SAMSUNG UN50F600 (sticker is gone from the backside and it was purchased used without box, so don't know the exact model number) with black screen issue.

    I check the PSU/MB and both showing the correct voltages. Backlight working too.

    On the T-CON, I measured:

    VGL = 0.05V
    VGH = 1V
    VVD = 1.16V
    VCOM = 0.6V

    And If I disconnect the left side of the panel, I get white screen on the right side and the following values on the T-CON:

    VGL = 12.5V
    VGH = 30.5V
    VVD = 15.6V
    VCOM = 6.3V

    So I narrowed down the problem on the left side of the panel.

    I checked for short to ground the Panel PCB, couldn't measure any on the caps. I still need to check the IC Q45F G1563, maybe it went protection mode?

    Anyhow, do you guys any tips on trying to fix this problem?
    I checked on YT and some videos suggested that I should isolate certain lines on the T-CON ribbon cable until the shorted side starts up again.

    Thanks in advance!

    tape cutoff method, where you try a piece of tape usually from the second pin from the end, maybe start with covering 2-9 pins then uncover one pin at a time from pin 9 towards pin 2 depending on where the short is, if one end gives no joy try the other side meaning you have left and right side of same cable: good video there where he found the exact pin that was shorted, guess it can be more than one pin shorted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfrRhw7-ZII

        Report:
        I managed to get some moving white lines in the middle of the screen by masking it from pin 4 to pin 9. I will continue it tomorrow after I buy some transparent tape.

          Samsung UN65TU8000 - Panel Issue [ hole in ribbon cable ]
          by NWArkGuy
          Well, I will be the first to admit that I screwed up...

          In attempting to replace the backlight in a UN65TU8000, I made a hole through one of the ribbon cables between the board that runs along the bottom of the back of the TV and the panel. This lead to a between a 1/4 to 1/2 inch vertical stripe running the full height of the image.

          I don't have the experience; personally, to solder a bridging wire for the paths that were cut. So, I have been on the hunt for other Samsung TV's of similar size.

          I have 2 that I have found and have in my possession. ...

          Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel
          by howardc64
          • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
          • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
          • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
          • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
          • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display

          Samsung UE46ES8000 Blown fuse but no other signs of short
          by jesterace
          Hi I wonder if anyone might be able to steer me in the right direction. I have this Samsung UE46ES8000 TV and it went bang during use. The main fuse on the PSU board is open. I've checked every diode/mosfet/transistor I can see and nothing appears to be short to cause the fuse to go. The DC output of the bridge rectifier is not short either. I've seen online that some of these models are known for having their PFC mosfet or other mosfets shorting and blowing the fuse but i'm not seeing that here. If anyone aware of these models having any issues to cause this? I'm reluctant to just replace the...

          Missing LCD Panel Voltages VGH, VGL, VCOM (TCL 55P6US Sound & Backlight but NO Picture)
          by maneatingmonkey
          I have a TCL 55P6US with sound and backlight but no picture. This model does not have a T-CON board, and the right (rear perspective) panel board is fed from the left panel board. I have not been able to induce any change by disconnecting the secondary panel board or the tape cut-off method on the primary board.

          There are a bunch of voltages missing on the panel boards. I can't find any shorted caps of the panel boards, and all of the missing voltage rails read in the kiloohms, which leads me to suspect the issue may lie on the circuit board, rather than a short in the panel.
