    Polaroid 3211-TLXB

First of all I would like to thank you guys for all the information on this site! It has helped me fix 2 TVs already. This one got me.

Red light on the front does not change from red. No response from power button. I checked the Voltages and noticed a low voltage 11.2 where its states 12v on the board. I don't know if that's significant but it seems that way to me. No caps to me look bad but as I have read here that doesn't mean they aren't. I cant seem to find the repair manual for this TV which would help. If you guys see anything or can help in any way I would be grateful.

    Thanks!

oh boy.. i see tons of crapcaps... HEC and YEC .. yuck..
plus what looks like a heavily bulging primary filter cap (the huge-ass cap in the first pic). could be the photo though..

the HEC caps on the powersupply board (1st pic) are most likely baked dry by now. especially the blue ones under the heatsink

Hello, I think you may have a burn Schottky Rectifier diode near T3. they are mounted on the heat sink( TO-220 CASING).The second Schottky Rectifier diode from the top. Or this could be the some reflection from the camera. Check it for short.

That big bulging capacitor on the power supply definitely needs replacing, but it is not causing your problem.

The problem that you are having is a common defect in Polaroid LCD televisions - there is something defective on the main board, but I do not know what it is. I have a different model TV that had the same problem, but I could not isolate it - replacing the main board fixed the TV.

          Thanks for the info guys.

crtfool - Do you know which model main board would enter change with this one? I searched for the model number for this one and cant seem to find it.

If anyone can get a hold of a repair manual that would be great.

          Thanks
          Will

No, I do not know what model boards are interchangeable. I also have not been able to find any documentation or service manuals for any Polaroid products. I do know that my TV was manufactured by PROVIEW for Polaroid, so I assume that all the sets were also manufactured by them because all the boards look very similar, but they do not support it with the Polaroid name on it. I also know that Polaroid will not help you, except to sell you a complete control box unit - they will not provide individual parts or a warranty if you install it yourself. Also, their service representatives are generally very nasty.

Here is a link to an as-is board for sale on eBay that gives you the part number - this number should match the number imprinted on your board:

If you are patient, you can probably get a working board on eBay - eventually.

Corsair RM 750 blown schottky diode near ES1DF
              by iyas132
Hi there, i am currently diagnosing my corsair rm750 that wont turn on, after a power trip.

Before the power trip, previously i need to push power button on my pc case quite a bit in order to turn the pc (and power supply on), however after the power trip now i cannot turn the pc on at all and i opened the power supply, and found out some of the component(s) are blown. (picture attached)

My current diagnostic is that the (schottky) diode marked "SF" in the 5Vsb circuit are blown and possibly the ES1DF diode too.

Can anyone help me identify the component...

Polaroid p49fn0038k backlights flashing split second
              by Chrissygizmo
Hi all, I have a polaroid p49fn0038k, I originally thought the problem was just a straight forward backlight replacement, however this isn't the case..

When I power it up, the backlights flash on for a split second, I've tested the backlight strips and all are fine, I can see the polaroid symbol on the screen using a torch light....

Any help would be greatly appreciated

              Thanks in advance

Polaroid P43D300 (vestel 17MB97) issues (bluetooth & various sw bugs)
              by snimmits
              Good afternoon,

              I have a Polaroid P43D300.
It shipped with WiFi and Bluetooth.

Two weeks ago, I ran through the first time installation.
This did a full reset and went through the first time setup.

Once complete, I went to settings > sound.
selected Audio Link, changed setting from disabled to enabled, pressed green button on remote and the tv does a search (discovery) for Bluetooth devices.

search completes and doesn't find any devices.

I have tried everything I can think of.

              Can someone provide...
