Hi All, I have a vizio e550i-b2e that has no standby voltage. I am hoping some one can help. I am getting 10-14volts bouncing at pin 5 of ic901 (Vcc). According to the data sheet for that ic I need atleast 16v for it to turn on. I did a thermal scan and the only thing that glowed was d901.

I did replace the capacitors and I am trying to find the d950.Attached FilesComment

D950b is right by connector cn101, looks like they did not use D950a.Last edited by nomoresonys; 03-13-2022, 04:30 PM.Comment

Re: Vizio E550i-b2e no standby voltage
No everything looks good. From my understanding the ic takes current for the drain pins 7 and 8 and applies it to start the pwm then charges the cap for vcc. Then the aux winding is suppose to take over. However like I said the Vcc doesn't go over 14.5v and it needs 16 to turn on.Comment

Re: Vizio E550i-b2e no standby voltage
The vcc voltage you are seeing on pin5 is likely from the internal startup cell, Check the source resistors, R907a,b if they are ok, I suspect the ic itself could be bad, if it was trying to start you should see a volt or two on D950b as that is the output of the standby voltage, just be sure there is no short on the standby output killing the voltageComment

Check that you don't have an open transformer winding between pins 1&4 and also the output pins 5&7Last edited by R_J; 03-13-2022, 07:44 PM.Comment

Re: Vizio E550i-b2e no standby voltage
What was wrong with Q800 & R804A? they are for the pfc circuit not the standby circuit. however if Q800 was shorted it may have damaged ic801 and ic801's vcc voltage is supplied by the standby circuit D902 via the transistor connected to J14
Also if ic901's internal mosfet shorted, it may have damaged the source resistors or shorted zd909, zd909 would need to be removed to check it because it is across the low value source resistors R907.Last edited by R_J; 03-13-2022, 08:25 PM.Comment

maybe look all the solder joints over closely, might be just the picture but the joints on BD1 and D120 look a little suspect.Comment

by brock-sAn Asus GL503GE laptop arrived that had had a screw dropped on the motherboard while the battery was connected. This resulted in a physical damage to the 3.3v / 5v voltage controller RT6575DGQW (pu28 on schematic, page 40). Additionally, the trace to pin 12 (VIN 19v supply) was burnt.
Replaced the RT6575DGQW with a new one, repaired the damaged trace. Only getting 0.7V instead of the expected 3.3v standby voltage (3V_S5 on schematic).
Replaced the AON7408 PQ60 mosfet from a donor board as resistance was low on the gate (I did not write this value down, as I optimistically... -
by reessiHello,
I am trying to re-purpose this power supply that I saved years ago from a tv with a cracked screen for a monitor but that is not really that relevent at the moment. I do not recall which tv but a google search looks like it is from Wharfedale LTF37K1.
You may notice I made some alterations moving some components to the top and some wires which are from a 5v regulator I fitted to the 12v output as the monitor requires 5v. The standby was already at fault from the beginning, it has nothing to do with the alterations...
Years ago it had some bulging caps... -
by funkmunk3yHello!
I was given this Vizio because it would freeze up after a few minutes of operation. There were no obvious burns marks or failures. When I was checking the power supply - I slipped & shorted it (tiny crackle & spark) at one of the 12 volt pins - now the entire board is dead & has NO standby voltage @ the connector to the main board.
The fuse at the power input is reading good - the main caps are reading in the 160's & all the diodes read good except one (D9103 - pictured) - but it only reads bad in circuit - I pulled it & it tests o.k.

by SportlineGood day, instead of Q0165R I mistakenly put 24C256 (don't ask me how) and made a short circuit. After I put Q0165R I don't have stand by voltage again. There is no voltage on the cold side. I found the schematic.
I checked a few things but didn't find anything. When I checked the DB802 diode, it showed a short circuit, but when I unsoldered one leg, it looked fine, and I still have a short circuit on its contacts. On the other side of the board, I have DZB801 also shorted, but it is SOT23, so I didn't remove it, do you think it could be connected to it? Could there be some protection... -
by DXseekerMOI picked up this Vizio E400i-B2 with no stand-by light and diagnosed it with missing stand-by voltage. I found a Power Supply at ShopJimmy, installed it but it didn't work properly. SJ refunded the transaction and did not ask me to send the board back.
So I took some voltage readings upon the original board. Here's what I found:
Main caps have 169.9v
AC detect voltage is 1.3v
None of the MOSFETS appear to be short.
The opto (IC106) that appears to have something to do with stand-by voltage has 3.0 volts on terminal 1... - Loading...
