    Panasonic TX-65x700 start problem

    Hello everyone.

A friend of mine has a Panasonic TX-65x700.

Since yesterday it shows the Following symptoms.
Cold start, black screen, backlight works
Restart, blue and black vertical bands ( always the same scheme), sound OK, no osd (see picture)
Next restart, ok image and sound, stable.

It looks like somethingnneeds to be a bit more heated to run properly.

I was thinking to open the back, and heat with an hair drier one board after another to find the faulty one.

Any idea or favorite place to look at.

    Thanks for advices.

I would start with power board. Look at caps for bulging tops.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

      hello dskall

Thanks for the advice, I was planning anyway to make a deep inspection.

I can't fond any doc on the net on this TV set, so I don't know if there is a T-Con or any info on the intenrla design.

It's only a 2 years old TV and I guess that rhere is not a lot of fiedback on weaknesses.

      Let(s move this way.
      I'l do it this week.

      Best regards

      JM

Problems with the el. capacitors are the past..It's more probably a bga soldering isuue or a dc-dc converter issue on tcon or frc.. post pictures of back with no cover, and each board except the power one, locate each possible dc dc conv. starting with the linears using datasheet, then warm them before turning on and see the image..

          Hi Davi

I'll do it this week. The TV is located at my daughter's house.

Agree that caps are less and less a concern. Having a look does not cost a lot.

Pictures will be taken and I have a way to (cautiously) cool down a component with compressed gas duster.
If it's temperature sensitive, then I may be able to locate the bad guy.

          Many thanks

          Jean Marc

Sorry my confusion, forget about dc dc converters, they suffer the heat... much probably connectors to the screen, second chance bga issue, third chance el. cap. but i would not bet on it..

              hello everybody

I've been able to open the beast.
              Here are some pictures.

Rapid inspection did not show any big issue, but, on the back of the power board some soldering are clearly damaged.
              especially on components on heatsink.

As the problem seems to be heat related, i guess that this can explain symptoms.

I'll renew all "suspect" soldering and let you know the outcome.

              Best regards

Don't think that is the problem. But resoldering can't hurt. Try warming mainboard and see if start up changes.

                  Hello

Resoldering did not change the problem.

I've made a vidoe of the starup process with the 3 phases.
                  https://youtu.be/WmgrGgEntKc

Heating the main board did not changed anything.

What i can tell also, is that if I leave the tv off for 15 min, it will go to the 3 restart phase needed to have it working.
If then I just switch it off and restart, then it works immedialtly.

After some minutes off it goes back to the toubled startup.

I'll make a test with the T-CON (heating) to see if it comes from there.

any other test I can make to try to locate the fault ?

                  Best regards

                  JM

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
                    by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Panasonic TX-24A1UN CRT Sound and Input problem.
                    by hugocarmo
                    Hi.

IΒ΄ve been given an old CRT from Panasonic, itΒ΄s almost new, it was storaged and almost not used since bought.
It is imaculate inside, almost no dust or debris inside.
The picture is good, but I have no left sound channel, I tried all the inputs, outputs, even on headphone jack. In AV2 I hear sound from right channel but no image, on tv tuner only right sound channel, the same for AV1.
So I started to look for a service manual, I found one, and started from the beginning.
Most of the times the caps are the problem so I orderer all the caps for all boards,...

panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television half screen problem
                    by renech
                    hello,
I hope someone on this forum can assist me.
                    I have a panasonic TH-42PC77U plasma television.
the lower 1/2 of the screen has become flaky....in and out, then finally goes black and you can only see the top portion.
i have performed the reset to default settings quite a few times. Panasonic recommended..did not believe this would help...it didn't.
I have removed the back panel and looked around for something obvious...burn marks in a board, etc....nothing obvious...
I have read some posts that suggest the problem is related to the boards on the left...

panasonic TX-P50V10E 6 blink led problem
                    by Vebririon
                    Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible β€” so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

Problem with LG Plasma 60PM6700 - Random power downs
                    by theone111
I have an LG Plasma TV 60PM6700 for the past ~12 years.

In the last ~3-4 months I have been having some issues.
                    1. Problem: It started with random picture disappearing (sound still worked).
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait a few seconds before turning it on again.
                    2. Problem: Then it got worse and the TV started to shut down and when turning on the no picture just sound.
Frequency: Happened about once a week.
Solution: Had to turn off TV wait about 10-20 seconds and turn it on again to solve.
                    3. Problem: TV shuts down
