Samsung UN55TU7000 no picture but have power, backlight, and sound

    Hi all,

I obtained this Samsung UN55TU7000 and want to save to save from going to the dump. It has backlight when I turn on the TV, it stays lit, and when I click the menu on the remote the backlight blinks and has sound.
I've search here and looked up pages after pages but I can't find the specific one. I'm only equipped with soldering iron and multimeter for now. I've found plenty of shorted caps in the right side panel (when looking in front of TV) itself since this Samsung has the T-con integrated. No short on the left side. The pattern of the shorted caps is as followed.

C44,C43,161--C160,C46,C45--C159,C48,C47--C162,C50,C49--C52,C51,C163--and 2 unnamed caps circled. I've marked them all in the pics.

I haven't tested any voltages as I'm not sure which one's to test. I don't know how to go about from here. Do you guys think this is still fixable? Please advise on how to go about. Thanks in advance.

Did you find those shorted caps with the LVDS cable connected ?

Short is there without the LVDS connected. LVDS only connects to the right panel then cable ribbon connects from right panel to left. There's no short caps on the left panel at all.

More information from me. I just got around to checking the voltages in the shorted panel. I have no voltages on the dots (VGL,VSS,AVCM,TVCM). I looked up flash memory 25Q32JVSIQ Winbond and measured it as well. I didn't get any VCC voltage but I got 3volts from pin1 (chip select).

Update: i found the short cap and replaced it with same size. No more short as tested but I still have no voltages (VGL,VSS). Any ideas?

check the pico fuses on your main board, chances are the short blew one of them, located close to the power connection

Thanks you for the tip! I had to remove the heat shroud to locate this one hiding and this might be the culprit. I don't have the exact replacement for this one though. Any suggestions just for testing purposes?

What cap did you end up replacing?

Samsung UE60KU6079 backlight okay mainboard responsive, no picture, no sound
                    by Ierwin
                    Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
                    by TR103
                    Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                    - sound and backlight, but no picture
                    - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                    - it keeps rebooting
                    - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                    - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                    by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

Samsung un55cu7000d with backlight and sound No Video / Picture
                    by gl4709
I am working on a Samsung un55cu7000d which has backlights and audio. There is no picture. This model does NOT have a separate TCON board. Before I order a main board I would like to try and confirm that the issue is not in the display. The ribbon cable from the main board goes directly to the display and I can then disconnect the left from the right. When I disconnect the right side the display lights up on one side but has no video being displayed. Can you all give me some guidance on how to confirm the main board is the issue.

Samsung UE50TU7099U no picture no sound, backlight present
                    by LaPCon_IT
TV has one combo board (VTT55UH160). Symptoms are like this.

When part of the screen is disconnected (white part), it looks like this

Resistance and voltages (I don't know if they are good or not). The inductor with 0ohm/0V seems to be connected to GND.

I haven't noticed any shorts on rails listed below:

                    VGH - 30V
                    VGL- -9V
                    VAA - 14V
                    VCOM - 5.6V
                    STV - 11.95V
                    LC1, LC2 - +30/-12V

All CKV lines (no shorts between them) looks the same:
