Help is appreciated as always. I have Samsung UN60FH6003 with power supply BN44-00669A. When you plug it in, the backlight is flashing at roughly 1 Hz. Heat spots on the board, i thought diodes for sure. But when i measure the filter caps voltage, its 162v -pfc is off. This is the cas with or without the main board connected to power supply. LED Diodes checkout. Backlights checkout. Caps at the LED Driver checkout. Thoughts?

Re: Flashing Baclight UN60Fh6003 - PFC off
Bad LEDs can cause flashing on their own and cause the entire string to flash. I would suspect both the power supply and backlights are damaged since Samsungs dont have shutdown protection.
Just had a weird backlight failure on a UN40H203 with dim backlights. Expecting most LEDs were burnt out but only 3 were. Swapped power supplies since I had a spare and problem was still there confirming bad backlights. It only takes one bad LED to affect the whole array.Last edited by neilc6; 10-03-2021, 10:28 AM. -

Re: Flashing Baclight UN60Fh6003 - PFC off
The backlight driver circuitry is fairly burnt up which is an indicator of bad backlights. You should get standby voltage to the main from the power supply. The power supply turns on with a PS-ON signal from the main. Samsungs have pull up resistors on the both PS-ON and BL-ON signals so disconnecting the main will force the power supply and backlights on.
I have little luck repairing LED driver circuits on Samsungs unless its just a shorted diode and typically replace the whole board. You can test the diodes, FET and sense resistor for shorts.Last edited by neilc6; 10-03-2021, 01:16 PM.Comment

Re: Flashing Baclight UN60Fh6003 - PFC off
I am thinking your original suggestion was accurate. Seemd many of the LEDs are shorted. When i test the leds, they all light up (panel is still closed)
The voltage on the tester is very low. One string is 24v and one is 34v. The tv cant have 7 (@3v) leds on one string or 11 on the other?Comment

Re: Flashing Baclight UN60Fh6003 - PFC off
If you search for the strips on Shopjimmy, it shows 6 rows of 14 LEDs = 84 total so approx 252V for all of them in series. Power supply is marked 297V for the LED driver output.
https://www.shopjimmy.com/bn96-29074...strips-new-12/
These style of strips are very common failures in E, H and J model years.
They aren't all lighting up. There are many shorted. You can't assume they are all lighting up without observing them.Last edited by neilc6; 10-03-2021, 06:20 PM.Comment

by STKR123As the Elitebooks (820, 840 all gens) only show flashing Power LED and flashing CapsLock (continuously) + a very soft "ticking" noise near the DC Jack,
I wonder if re-flashing the BIOS might be of any use here.
As far as I understood, steady flashing either means insufficient power or a CPU/GPU/Motherboard issue. I use the original 65watt power supply.
There are so many threads out there, but most of the solutions involve flashing codes, which I dont have or claim that you MUST use the original power supply, do a hard reset, reseat the RAM, clean the RAM,... -
by rddubeHello everyone,
Thought I'd share this find for the repair of an LG tv which had started to turn on but would only get flashing backlights. Backlights would flash at a few second intervals, and when I opened it, noticed that only the 3 bottom rows were flashing, the 2 top rows were completely dead. Replaced a few burnt leds (tested with my led tester), put everything back together, tested all led strips and they were all good, but again the 3 bottom rows would go into this flashing cycle.

by KevMhi had loads of help from this forum getting TVs back up and running but seem to be hitting a brick wall with this one.
Backlights failed before Xmas so ordered a new set and after replacing them and putting the set back together was delighted to see it work for 15 seconds only for the picture to flash on and off and a quick look round the back confirmed the backlights were flashing on and off
I have a steady 44v at +vled and a fluctuating 0v to 10v at -vled when the light start flashing, a steady Bl-on voltage and steady dim voltage.

by BloopetaHi peeps, have a Panasonic TX-55CX400B here, guy I got it from said he tried to turn it on other day, and no backlights.
When I received it last night, I plugged it in, and it came straight on and appeared to be working fine, so knowing this would only be temporary, I left it running for a good few hours, and they eventually went off. I tried turning it off and back on again, and this time the backlights started flashing at a steady continuous pace. So I turned it off and left it overnight as it was getting late.
This morning when I turned it on, same problem, backlights... -
by ChrissygizmoHi all, I have a polaroid p49fn0038k, I originally thought the problem was just a straight forward backlight replacement, however this isn't the case..
When I power it up, the backlights flash on for a split second, I've tested the backlight strips and all are fine, I can see the polaroid symbol on the screen using a torch light....
Any help would be greatly appreciated
