Can anybody tell me what type of glue or adhesive I need to reattach the ribbon cable from the screen back to a replacement t-con board on a TCL 32S331 TV? What is the process and where can I get the materials and or the tools to do this? Thanks in advance!

Re: TCL 32S331 ribbon cable to t-con board
Thanks diif! Any suggestions? I've been looking for ACF tape but the only place it's available is China, as far I can find. I have found a t-iron attachment on Amazon. Are there any other tapes or adhesives that can be used in place of ACF tape? Looking forward to your reply. Thank you!Comment

No, only ACF tape can be used. It's conductive in one direction. https://www.silmantech.com/whats-acf...-does-it-work/Comment

Are there any places to get the ACF tape in the United States? It will probably take about a month to get it from China.Comment

Any chance you might have some of this acf tape I could buy from you for this job? Or, maybe there is somebody else on here that might have it for sale that you're familiar with?Comment

by advantThis thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.
I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match... -

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by Tr0llHi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.
The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.
Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.
First replacement T-con:
I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)... -
by HakuuHi There,
This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.
After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.
