LG OLED55C7P Vertical White Bar and Randomly Turns Off

    Hi All!

I have this LG OLED55C7P. Someone gave it to me stating that it would no longer turn on. I plugged it in and it turned on right away, ran it for a while and everything looked good. Gave it to a client of mine and that same day he said after watching it for an hour it shut off, so I had him bring it back. Now, it has a vertical white bar (see pics) and will randomly shut off - sometimes after an hour or two, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a few seconds. I noticed that initially the white bar appeared solid, but now it looks streaky.

Looking for help with diagnosis. Do you think it's a bad panel? Bad t-con? bad main board? Thanks! --Dave

Looks like a panel problem, not repairable.

Are there any cof chip attached on the panel? if yes put an hard shim of wood under it and try to reflow under the chip.. this apart i think you also have a semi short on the video board (i don't know the real name)

It's an Oled, there are no COF's visible and you can not reach them.

              1) T-Con: Here are the best pics I could get. Had to break it into 2 shots (left and right) to get enough clarity to read the serigraphs. (see attached)
              2) Panel Driver Board: That board is behind the stiff metal backing plate that is fused to the panel (you can see what I mean at the bottom of the picture of the back of the TV from my first post), so there's no access to that board for pictures or repair - unless I take an angle grinder and cut away some of the metal frame

Let me know your thoughts...whether I should try a new T-Con or Main Board, or give up and scrap it. Thanks! --Dave

If you want to fix all the tv i cannot help you, there's surely a cog or some cof due to the fact the output connectors counts much few lines than the screen columns, so there it is needed a reflow, for the shut off problem i think problem is the mosfet Q6004 on tcon board, it can be made some simple experiments to ensure that... finally, good pictures, i will save them for reference even if i will never touch an Oled i guess..

To follow up - I replaced the panel and all is well (t-con and main board work fine). Case closed.

Does this mean that OLEDs will fail every four or five years?! That's not a lick better than a cheapo IPS LCD or a VA LCD! FFS!

I guess it was good that I didn't get an OLED yet for gaming. For me, it looks like even a TN would be better, LOL!

Hi all Happy Holidays! Was just wondering if you think this white vertical bar would be fixable. Maybe bad TCon or ribbon cable? Contemplating trading a 50 inch Hisense 4K Roku for the Samsung but might get burned lol. The Samsung is model QN65Q80AAFXZC QLED TV has a white vertical Bar. Any thought appreciated. Thanks.

HP Notebook - 15-ba017ax (LA-D711P Motherboard) turns off randomly after some time
                      by nieljosiah
I've had this laptop for 8-9 years, and about a week back, it started malfunctioning. When I press the power button, the power LED comes on for about 5secs and turns off. The fan also doesn't spin at all during this time. But, if I press the power button, and then manually spin the fan, the laptop boots up and the fan starts spinning on its own. Even if I do this, and the laptop boots up, it turns off (hard shutdown) after some time between 10secs and 1hour randomly. I've tried checking the fan voltage and it's at zero volts when I press the power button without spinning it, but when I spin the...

Partial Success Repairing Vertical White Bands on HP Z30i
                      by lowteq
                      Hello.

I was given a HP Z30i LCD computer monitor that had several white wide vertical bands on it. I had another Z30i that was working and after a lot of swapping of components I found that the logic board, TCON board and associated ribbon cables were healthy. The problem was the ribbon cables that go from a long slender PCB across the top of the panel onto the panel itself. The problem connection was on the PCB side not the glass panel side. These ribbon cables are attached with some kind of heat set adhesive.

I'm aware that this type of problem usually isn't repairable...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
                      by Daren87
                      Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...
