    panasonic txp 42ut30b runs hot

Hi just given this plasma to save from landfill
and no suprise y sus igbts s/c
    the originals 30f131 x4
i used rjp63k2 as i had these in stock ,
(and theres so many fake 30f131s around)

    two diodes d401 rf1501 and
    d421 rfn10ns3s were both s/c
so i used two rf2001 n3d again as i had these in stock
after checking buffers etc i tried it on and it works fine .
after 2 hours i checked it and the igbts seem to be running very hot
you wouldnt want to keep your finger on them for more than a few seconds.

i know on plasmas that the igbts do run hot ,
this is why the early ones had fans fitted ,
and on some they are bolted to a large heatsink
but im wondering if they would run cooler with alternative igbt equivalents ?
the y sus is type TNPA 5349
i would value your opinion ,perhaps they run hot anyway
i may experiment with a small 12v fan to see if it cools the board

Checked their respective resistors for open circuit or high resistance ? I’ve had them fail, they run hot though I add heat sinks when and where I can to them sets too.

      thanks
i checked all the gate resistors
and resoldered them as the board did look a bit discoloured.
ive added a simple 12v fan fed from 15v supply via 100 ohm resistor(runs at 11.5v)
theres enough room to fit when rear cover is fitted ,
it runs quiet and now the igbts are running so much cooler,
just curious why pana use two different diodes when the data sheets for these seem the same?
      d401=rf1501
      d421 =rfn10n53s
      i replaced both with rf2001 n3d
ill report back after long soak test
      the picture quality is superb

        just an update
after running all day for 4 days with back cover on ,
all good ,runs nice and cool .
so anyone repairing one of these dont hesitate to use RJP63K2 igbts as they work a treat.

            the RF2001 n3d is rated as 20amp
so they should be up to spec as good replacements

Panasonic TX-P42UT30E, IGBTs on the SN board

              Hi,

I'm having problems with my plasma Panasonic p42txu32e. The issue started about 12 months ago.

I have a remote controlled main outlet so whenever I turn off the TV set at night, I also switch off the whole power outlet.
It gives me a better feeling to know I don't have 230V on any cables, so my dog can't get hurt if he gets the idea to start chewing on something.

About 12 months ago the TV started to have the following problem: when pressing anything on the RC to get it on, the red led would go off.

              Sometimes it would turn...

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

Problem with PANASONIC CF53 laptop after changing BIOS settings
              by AquaMan Ua
Hello. I am asking you for a hint on how to solve the problem with my touchbook Panasonic CF53-2 standart model. After setting up the BIOS, the laptop displays the wrong image until Windows loads. (More precisely, it displays, but distorted, instead of the Panasonic image immediately after turning it on, it displays what is in photo #1 in the attached file) Then the image appears when Windows starts loading and then there are no problems with the screen until the reboot. If you enter the BIOS, just a black screen. If you connect an external screen, the image on it is the same as on the built-in...

Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1 BIOS repair
              by aa10aa10
              Good day,

I have tried to remove BIOS supervisor password from Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 mk1. Model number CF-33AENABTG, unfortunately I don't have any other info.

I read the BIOS using afuwin, edited it and tried to flash new edited BIOS using afuwin. Unsuccessfully. Afuwin showed "Error: Problem erasing flash." starting with 0x00040000 and stoped. Then I tried many other options to flash BIOS from Windows without any luck. Finally i rebooted the device - and no post. Afterwards I have read the corrupted bios chip (MX25L12873F) using EZP2010 programmer....
