Hmmnnn.... IMOP Something doesn't look right. Way too many TV's for sale in one place. I'd be suspicious as to where they all came from (as in stolen). Maybe it's a repair shop that didn't do repairs on them for one reason or another, doesn't say they all work.

one board is good for my old idea of user serviceable tv.s . like a board in a cartridge . service exchange cartridges .
as for current old tv prices i sell for about £30 4 weeks guarantee . i get free ones to repair as not worth it to owner . if it costs more than a tenner to fix its a parts one .

well unfortunately in the USA tvs have no little to no value at all.

repairing them just doesnt make econmic sense..unless the repair costsx less then $20 usd max i would say

i definitely would not spend more than $20 usd to repair a tv that is only worth $25 when fixed..not worth the time for $5

just a matter of time and there will be no tv repair shops where live..there is no way they will be able to stay in business ...its sad but tv repair is unfortunately just a hobby now and can not be a viable business since almost everyone just tosses their tv in trash a buys a new one...cheaper than repair cost.

I did Radio & TV Servicing at a local college more years ago than I wish to remember and one thing that was said around that time was that there was no future in servicing.
There may not be as many repair shops as there were then but servicing still goes on.
Willing to help but I'm no expert.

              Im referring to usa

There are are few to no repair shops anymore in usa

There is 1 tv repair shop where i live but they dont really repair tvs anymore...they repair iphones ipads macbooks.

Here in usa tvs are now considered a disposable product.

You can't blame the manufactures entirely, a LOT of repair shops over the years have just charged too much money to repair a tv so people just naturally assume and are right, specially now since they ARE so cheap, that's it's cheaper to buy new than have the old one fixed. I myself OR anyone that I have known has ever gotten an estimate that wasn't at least half the cost of a new tv and sometimes even more than a new one costs. I think the manufactures picked up on this trend a long time ago and naturally used it to their advantage.

                  Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

Desoldering - soldering BGA chip close plastic mini fpc connectors ?
                  by corrize
Hello, I need your advise please ? I need to remove and replace the BGA black chip with fpc connectors around. The PCB is small, from camera.

There is no plastic component directly under, on the other face, (only fuse and oscillator I can remove if they are sensitives to heat), but there is a lot of very small smd components I don't want to desolder by mistake.

                  I have :
                  - hot air, and a
                  ll stuff around
                  - true kapton tape
                  - 140 and 180 degree soldering paste
                  - bismuth
                  - little hot plate 250 degree max
                  - the new BGA chip with probably
                  ...

Soldering plastic low profile FPC close camera CMOS sensor ?
                  by corrize
Hello, I will have to solder a very small FPC connector (pins : 0.3mm), on the pcb of CMOS sensor, it is very close. I was surprised by movie on ytb, someone soldering directly with hot air directly on the sensor without kapton, nothing.
CMOS sensor seems resist to high temps.
But I also directly saw sensor broken because a blocked motor at the corner became very hot and probably bent the metal frame and cracked the sensor.

I have low melting point solder.
I will probably test hot air directly on one of plastic connector (I have a lot) at 320 degree on a test
                  ...

Plastic stand offs for backlight diffuser
                  by geo86
                  Hi,

Does anyone know where to buy plastic stand offs for backlight diffuser, mainly for Vestel TVs?

They are extremely brittle and almost always they break into pieces.

I looked on internet but little success.

                  Thank you!...

Ubiquiti Unifi PoE Switch US-8-150W Power Supply Failure

Got this one for free because, well, it no worky.

A little research and there are tons of complaints all over forums/the internet about premature failure of these switches. The observation everyone makes about these is "they run hot" and failure occurring as soon as 13 months, right out of warranty, of course.

Upon removal of the cover I found a G0398-15011480A power supply that, when plugged in, was making a constant ticking noise. Multimeter confirmed the PSU was the issue. Output was cycling between 0 and about 20V. With output disconnected it sat around...
