I have a LG 60pv250, picture look good except for some what looks like noise that flashes on and off in certain areas across the screen. Grainy pic splotches. Looks like it would be an area across the screen horizontally. Also the tv stays on for probably 2-3 mins and then turns itself off. I can turn it back on but cycle continues. If I unplug the YSUS board the tv will stay on forever but no picture of course but have audio. Would this point to a bad YSUS board? I have already touched up the bad solder joints on the coils on this board as its a known issue. If it is a bad YSUS board do I have to replace the 2 buffer boards? I have seen opinions both ways. I have measured the voltages going to the YSUS and TSUS boards and both are identical coming from the power supply. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: LG 60pv250 plasma tv issue
Y-sustain, Z-sustain, and power supply commonly have cracked solder joints on these models.
I recommend you thoroughly reflow all 3 boards. If the issue doesn't get resolved, then you missed the cracked joints. there can be many dozens of cracked joints, sometimes hundreds. It will take a while to properly reflow all three boards but it will take care of the problem.

by PlasMattI have an LG plasma that after reading through a bunch of posts and doing some testing I believe has a bad YSUS board. The problem is that that doesn't make sense to me for some of the symptoms. The problem started yesterday. While watching a movie the TV just shut down like I pressed power. I have it hooked to a PC and use RS232 to turn it off and on so I thought maybe something had glitched there. I turned it back on and finished the movie with no problems. The same thing happened today so I checked logs to see if something in the control glitched and sent an off command but it didn't, After...

by CooperrI picked up this TV from Facebook Marketplace, original owner described it as "screen went black after a pop" and I hoped to see an obvious fuse or cap to replace. Doesn't seem to be the case, but my experience and electrical knowledge are kind of limited for this.
The power board (BN44-00445A, see attached) turns on and Vs and Va seem to momentarily have power, then they steadily drain to zero over a minute or two as if they're only getting power from capacitors. I've been measuring Vs and Va from the test pads, with and without the other boards connected to the power board... -

by rouninHi everyone,
I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck โ hoping someone here can shed some light.
๐ Original Issue
The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C โ stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.
I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.
