    Samsung UA55JU7500

    Hello,
I have a Samsung UA55JU7500 Curved LED TV
a Customer brought it to me complaining that he had Vertical lines going through the screen it will not show a image and has no sound or response from the remote control or the onboard controls
When you first turn it on it flashes up a full display of lines then dims out the lines then 2 seconds latter they come back and remain on for 3 minuets then the panel shuts off to a black screen
I have since done some investigations and discovered the following
He put the wrong size screws into the stand and the screws penetrated into the Tcon board on the edges causing circuit board damage to the Circuit board I don't Know if he has damaged the LCD
He told me he opened the tv and removed the damaged tcon board and replaced it with one he purchased from EBAY ,
I have had a close look at the Board and made sure the Ribbon cable are connected correctly and the Power supply voltages are present to the Tcon board
I am getting the supply line to the tcon 13v at the SMD fuse on the board
I am all so getting it at pin 1 on the Ribbon connector at the FCC boards

I am not sure if he has damaged the LCD or the fault is due to a firmware missing or mismatch on the Tcon board to the Mainboard

Your help is appreciated in pointing me to finding the problem

    Re: Samsung UA55JU7500

As a rule of thumbs, when ever a customer does something, the first step is to undo it and then proceed with a diagnostic.
put the original T-con board back in and see start from there.

Also you said after 3 minutes the screen shuts off? did you mean to say the TV or when you say the screen you actually mean just the screen? Can you clairify that your backlight stays on after the screen shuts off. Was that a typo?

      Re: Samsung UA55JU7500

      Thanks for the Response
The tv power shuts off after 3mininto Standby NO POWER NO BACKLIGHT and you need to hit the power button to power on again SO the standby Circuit is Working ok
I have checked the listed supply lines as per the main board and they are all present
the Tcon board that was Originally in the tv is Damaged the screw has torn through the copper tracking
I don't think it would be safe to turn on with it in there in case it blows something as it is on the pin 1 15v supply line of the TCON Board
at the bottom left ribbon cable connector of the TCON board

If both tcons have a white sticker, see if the numbers match up.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Assuming...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
          by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Upgrading a Samsung ue55nu7096u with logic board from an ue55ru7105k -- good idea?
          by ohren
I hope this is the right forum to post in despite not technically being a repair, but still a question of swapping boards.

I thought I'd explore the possibility to upgrade an existing working Samsung ue55nu7096u with the logic board (and power board if needed) of a newer model (ue55ru7105k) of the same size and appearance (and resolution). The reason being I'd like the extra inputs of that board including component in, an extra HDMI port and bluetooth. Its panel is broken so I have no use for the board otherwise.

The models launched in 2018 and 2019 respectively....

Physically bending the T-Con board creates horizontal dotted lines on OLED55CXPUA
          by fredtred
          Hello!
I have been trying to solve this issue the past 12 months to no avail. I have been a lurker here during that time but finally decided to post my problem and see if anybody knows a solution.

          Problem
My tv (OLED55CXPUA) has an issue where it displays horizonal lines of dotted artifacts.

          (See Attachment 1)

          Self Diagnosing
After a very long troubleshooting period I traced the issue to the T-Con board. If I gently flexed/bend the board I could make the display go from GOOD to BAD and vice versa. I have ruled out the connectors/wires...
