Update (9/29/2020) : I connected a different HDMI cable to the dvd player and now I can hear the sound. The vertical lines still remain.

remove one by one flexs the right flex from tcon to the screen and check if the left half of the screen is good and the same way with the left side.then check vgh and vgl voltages.good luck.

                With the DVD playing,

                1) Both ribbon cables attached to t-con : multi colored vertical lines on the screen

                2) If I remove the right ribbon cable alone from t-con, then the right half screen becomes white and left still has stripes.

30 If I remove the left ribbon cable alone from the t-con, the left half screen becomes white and the right still has the stripes.

I didn't check the voltage yet. I will do that tomorrow.

                Thanks

                  1. Don't ask for replies every few hours, this is not a call center.
                  2. Don't make pictures with the shadow of your hands/head.
                  3. 90% is a CPU soldering problem so try a reflow, if it improves ask for a reballing.

                    Checked the voltage.

                    fuse : 12v
                    VDD : 16.9v
                    VGH : 26.7v
                    VGL : -6.9v
                    VCOM : 7.9v

                    thanks

                      Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
                      by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Strange LG TV issue : Image vertical lines in black screen
                      by Ancient1
                      Hi

                      Asking for a friend.

I'm used to black vertical line in otherwise good image - probable solution is a rubber to push and tighten the COFs bonding.
but here its the opposite !

TV has new T-con = same issue
A missing panel voltage would have global effect

So , what should one do ? how can I find where the fault is ?

                      Thanks !...

LG 47LV5500-UA Vertical Colored Lines/Alignment Issue
                      by Superluminal
Hi all, looking for some input on this one. I've been reading the forums for quite some time but this is my first time posting for help.

                      LG 47LV5500-UA
                      10 years old
                      20,000+ hours on it.

Watching TV on it last week and right while I was watching the image suddenly started experiencing the symptoms in pics. Rainbow chromatic vertical lines and alignment issues. The issue is uniform across the entire panel. It does not come and go, the symptoms are stable.

Here is what I've tried so far:
                      - Factory reset and cycle of picture options....

Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 w/ large vertical lines & no picture
                      by srs
I'm not sure what to do next and came here since y'all helped me fix a 50" plasma TV back in 2014, which is still working!

A friend gave me an Insignia NS-50DR620NA18 50" TV that suddenly developed large vertical lines on it. He said he had no idea what might have caused it and has replaced it with a larger TV. He was going to throw it away.

I did not notice any bulged or leaking caps on any board, the voltages produced by the power supply match the voltage that the pins are marked. The backlight leds are working. I have tried cleaning the ribbon cables...

Thin stable coloured vertical lines on Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC come and go
                      by polaro
                      Greetings,

I've bought a used Samsung UN65NU6900FXZC LED TV. It worked fine for some time and then developed, at first, a single very thin (1 pixel) vertical stable blue line, from top to bottom, close to the left edge of the screen. Now it's 3 lines on the left. When I connect HDMI sources the number of the thin lines grow. After disconnecting and cold discharging I am back to 2 lines. The lines disappear at a rate of 15-20 minutes per line. So it does not look like a damaged LED panel. Any advice? Thanks...
