    Samsung UE46D6100 thin horizontal lines

Ok, so I'm guessing panel defective but just thought I would put this one out there for the pro advice.

The TV came to me with sound, no picture. When switched on it did show image but a couple of the top edge lit backlight leds were out, causing a black spot at the top middle. Didn't notice any screen issues at the time but could have been there already just didnt see it.

Its difficult getting photos of the affected area as the lines do not always appear to be there. but might just be due to not showing up as obvious depending on the image / colour showing. The 3 or 4 lines are / can be all the way across the screen.

The backlight strips were replaced which went smoothly but of course its possible I unknowingly damaged something, well actually I did, the main to t-con ribbon connector. Thought it was just a press-in side tabs and pull out, but there was a retaining flip out clip that needed releasing first, but not convinced this is the cause, again I could be wrong.

So, bad panel, damaged t-con ribbon cable or other?

Horizontal lines are typically bad panels. Power on the TV with only one side connected at a time between the tcon and panel. If one side is good, you can try the tape cutoff method and block pins on the outside edge of the bad side.

      Thanks.

This is what I get with just one side of the tcon connected at a time.

Looks like both sides are causing problems. If you block the pins from the worse side, you will likely still have the display issues on the better side.

Yh. just gonna strip it down for spares, can't be investing too much time into it only for the conclusion to be the same result.

Thanks for your time, appreciate it!
