What I am saying is that you are told that the meter is good 'He assures me the tool is working correctly' but when you take the readings and the meter only shows 79V, then if I am the supe I would have great doubt that the meter is good by looking at the lights and appliance in your house, that would have giving the clue that the meter is wrong. How did the supe figure out that the meter is working correctly?
Surge protector is not safety device for preventing you from being electrocuted, it is for protecting the connected equipment.
Did you look all the outlets in your house to see if there is GFCI outlet in your house some where, my house is built in 1986 and required to have GFCI for both of my bath room and the kitchen, I do not know how old your house is

Are you really show about troubleshooting this TV? I do not want anyone to get killed.
I'm a bit confused by your analysis. If the readings on that multimeter are sporadically inaccurate then it follows that theres something electronically wrong with the multimeter per se, not the wiring in my house. If not it would be common sense to expect all my devices to be unable to function correctly, namely my gaming PC which is sensitive to electric changes. As I've mentioned before I will buy new batteries for the other multimeter to test.

I am grateful for your concern for my safety. Just so you know, I doubt I have a GFCI outlet in my bathroom. As such I will ask my super for his supervision over testing the tv and will try to find a surge protector for extra precaution. Will let you know tomorrow. Thanks.

Hi bud and diah. I retested it on the 300 ac scale. I get very abnormal readings that jump eccentrically from 1.0 - 155v. I think its possible that this multimeter is busted. I'll go ahead and use the sperry multimeter. But I need to buy batteries for it. I'll let you know by tonite or tomorrow when I test it. Thanks for your patience with me!

If the Voltage is really that low, that is brownout condition which can easily damage you fridge and air conditioner. You lights will also be dim through out the house.
How about on the 200V AC scale? How about check some DC V on battery? Also check the meter's batteries. I really doubt that you are having only 79V AC at your house, if you do you better unplug your fridge. What does the Sperry meter show?
I am surprised that your computer is still working if it is truly 79V AC.

HI bud. I'm now using another multimeter made by MCM Electronics, model# 72-7940. The super tested it out on my house outlet which showed around 78 volts. But he says it should read 110 - 130 volts. We tested it on most of the outlets in my house which showed the same reading. He assures me the tool is working correctly. I've posted a pic of this for you. Let me know if the dial is set correctly.

As to the boards here are updated pics. Hope they are to your liking!

OK, as you can see, Red connector P2 of the power supply board has pin names located on the bottom side of the board. The exposed pin on the top side of the board are ODD number pins that you can carefully check the Voltage of each pin easily, the EVEN number pins, you will need to use skinny probe to probe the pins from the wire entrance side side of the connect, all the Voltage testing has to be done with all connectors in place.

Turn the TV on and then check the Voltage on each pin, Black probe of the meter connected to the metal chassis of the TV for meter ground reference:
Report the reading as shown in the format below. Make sure to count the pin correctly.
PIN 1: PDIM (PWM Dimming control) = xxx V
    PIN 2: BL-ON = xxx V
    PIN 3: GND = xxx V
    PIN 4: P-ON (PS-ON:mpower supply turn on control signal) = xxx V
    PIN 5: N.C. (NO CONNECTION)
    PIN 6: A_DIM (Analog Diming control) = xxx V
    PIN 7: GND = xxx V
    PIN 8: GND = xxx V
    PIN 9: 12VDC = xxx V
    PIN 10: 12VDC = xxx V
    PIN 11: 12VDC = xxx V
    PIN 12: 12VDC = xxx V
    PIN 13: 12VDC = xxx V
    PIN 14: 3D_EN (3D MODE Enable) = xxx V

Hey bud.. I read the manual that youve attached. Although I'm no techie I get the gist of it.

As for a GFCI outlet, I can possibly get one from my super. I'll ask though I doubt he has one.

Below are the pics as you've requested...

***CORRECTION*** My tv is TCL model 55S405. Sorry for the typo in my original post.. I'll change it!

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

    Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:

    - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
    - it keeps rebooting
    - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
    - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
    - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

iMac PowerPC G4 very low sound • Sunflower Model
    by nickgronk
Just picked up an iMac powerpc for $1 at auction. changed pram. This is working. Problem, barely any sound. I have everything cranked up in software, reset nvram/pram - nada. I do get sound ONLY if I plug in a powered speakers in headphone port. I do not get the startup bong.
I get almost no sound with normal headphones. I mean, you can barely hear it. Took the board out and by eye found these 2 inductors broken. Not sure if they are for sound. Speaker is also plugged in and I tried a normal pc speaker in its place - still zilch. Are these inductors the culprit?
    I cannot find any schematics...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
    by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
