Will work if done right, this isn't just a loose connection you can shim up, without re-bonding the "grey bar" will remain.

the cleaning is probably only necessary if you can see obvious contamination on the contacts... since we don't know where it has been so to speak.... ie. how did it get like that?

at this point, try just pressing down with something that is non-sticky so that it can be removed and something else can be tried... ie. not tape as trying to remove it or reposition afterwards is probably not going to happen easily.
Some sort of thermal pad / foam / rubber tubing... etc.

It probably happened when I was assembling the tv back after installing the new led strips. I bought this tv new in late 2017. Seems like the thermal pad worked for some people on this forum. I ordered this one:

I found it good practice to gently fold the driver boards over onto the face of the panel and secure them with painters tape. It's too easy to catch them on something while moving the panel around.

Hopefully you'll find a way to fix this. As was said earlier having part of the tab still attached means alignment will be much less of an issue for you. Good luck.

Yeah thats def how it should be done. I thought I was super careful it must have happened with I was trying to close everything up. SO disappointing. Only had the TV for 3 years.

Yeah I was looking into that and the bonding tape but the shipping times are longgg. Mid-June type. Sucks.

If this thermal pad from amazon doesn't work I will hope to recoup some money by selling parts on ebay and likely will have to buy a TV.

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 Needed help with identifying charging IC
                  by sofles
                  Hi there,

Recently I bought broken Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2, the problem with them is that battery discharges on its own even with headphones turned off. It is a quite common issue with this model and even with model higher PX8.

With help of thermal camera I found out that there is one IC that is hot even with headphones turned off. To check if I'm correct I bought another PX7 S2 working one and replaced small charging board with this IC and problem solved, battery no more drains on its own. After changing board back to original problem returned so I'm 100% sure problem...

As stated by the person I collected the TV from, it just stopped working overnight. However, I still gave it a go to try and repair it.

There is a thread on the same TV but with slightly different issues where they had to tape connection points on the ribbon cable, so I want to see if this is repairable by any chance.

After bringing it home and plugging it in, the TV turned on with its backlight working but had no picture. After removing the back cover, the first thing I tried is to unplug one of the ribbon cables and the situation is as follows.

                  Left...

Panasonic ZT60 plasma tv with strange behavior and 8 blink code
                  by cloo
I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
                  by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

                  Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

                  First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

Yet another Samsung QLED Boot Loop
                  by Takeatry
Samsung QLED QN50Q — purchased 2022 started experiencing a delay in the picture coming on in the morning less than 2 years later. Did not know the term boot loop at that time. As the loop delay ran into a few minutes did all the recommended troubleshooting, soft and hard reset, changing cables and outlet locations, no help. As the delay increased contacted Samsung tech group and allow them remote access the tv. Tech was moving too fast to see exactly what he was doing but this ultimately it was also no help. Lived with the delay until it stretched out over 6 hours. Pulled of off the back cover...
