Masta please help. I got problem with sony KDL-50W800C.
BLINKING 5 times. Suspected tcon board . Bord tcon no is T550HVN08.2 CTRL BD. Anybody exp with this tcon. Maybe can advice . Flash fimware will solve? Coz n short on board

If 5 blinks is the tcon, check for voltage on both sides of the fuse. I see it marked 32V/3A. Second test is to power up the tv with only one side connected at a time from the tcon and see if you get a picture one side.

Also "T550HVN08.2 CTRL BD" is the P/N of the Blank PCB not PCB assembly, you need to match the P/N as printed on the bar code sticker.

Hye masta. Before i say thanks to both of sifoo. What i do is. I read back bios eprom on tcon. I put on my programmer. Then i backup and i place back bios ic. After that i pwr on with only one tcon. And i got display half. I pwr off then place both tcon cable. Wow display come back. Thanks u all

hello same problem here.. i got hold of this sony bravia kdl-50w800c the problem is black display with patch white with 5 red blinks immediately i assume its a tcon problem, i bought a tcon but unfortunately when i connect the tcon and power up the unit.. it only displays the logo of sony with the android title then goes black again with 5 red blinks.. what seems to be the problem.. thanks in advance guys..

What happen if you do not have ribbon cables between T-CON and the LCD panel connected, and if you have it connected one at a time?

tcon is not compatible with my unit.. i already return the new tcon and replaced it with original tcon serial number and it works .. thanks for the time..really appreciate it..

I think he is saying that he got another new TC-ON board that match the barcode sticker numbers this time, that is what I understand.

yah i bought a new tcon similar to the serial number of my original tcon. its an eye opener for me not to lean only to the board number but to the serial number.. the two have the same board number but different serial number ...

the number on the bar code is the PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) part number.
The T550XXXXXXX printed on the PCB is the Blank PCB that can be stuffed with many difference parts to make many required PCBA.

Ohh guys. I just posted this problem related to the same issue may be. I was looking for these 5 blinks on Google but it did not show me any results from this forum. How stupid i am So is that mean that i need to buy another one T-Con with barcode the same like mine one and not only the model?

Indeed, you need to match up those numbers on the sticker, just going by model number is a no no.

Any chance anyone has repaired this T-Con for future reference? What chip goes bad similar to ISL9860?

In sony tv the lvds cable mostly damaged.check if it is damaged or not.if it is ok then check tcon voltages.if all ok then open left side cable and watch.if same open only right side lvds and watch.if same problem you need to replace tcon.
