    Polaroid TDA-03211C

Recently I grabbed a Polaroid TDA-03211C from someone's curbside trash. There was also a tube-style computer monitor, but I let the other trash-pickers take that.

When plugged in, the LED light on the front of the TV changes from red to blue and the built-in DVD player spins for a short time before stopping (it is probably programmed into a ROM chip to search for a disc in the drive upon startup). The LED on the power board blinks at around 1 Hz.

Here we have a picture of [part of] the power board. Clearly the 10 microfarad 450 working volts DC capacitors need replacing, they are bulging (between the "TC18813F / RoHS" and "PROVIEW" silkscreens). All capacitors are "HEC" brand.

(Yes, this will take some time - I am busy with lots of work at my job, and around the house too.)

Should I remove the heatsink and replace the others?

Probably a good idea to replace them all, if it was for my own use I would just replace the bulgers and see if that solves it. It's not a huge tv so if you had to take the back off again it wouldn't be a big deal, your call.
Quit because THIS SITE LETS A ROGUE MEMBER TYPE ANY GARBAGE HE PLEASES AND THE POWERS THAT BE NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO HE NEVER QUITS. THEN YOU GET A PENALTY FOR RESPONDING TO HIS ATTACKS. BEEN GOING ON FOR WAY TOO LONG. DONE SUPPORTING A SITE THAT ALLOWS THIS BS.

Polaroid p49fn0038k backlights flashing split second
      by Chrissygizmo
Hi all, I have a polaroid p49fn0038k, I originally thought the problem was just a straight forward backlight replacement, however this isn't the case..

When I power it up, the backlights flash on for a split second, I've tested the backlight strips and all are fine, I can see the polaroid symbol on the screen using a torch light....

Any help would be greatly appreciated

      Thanks in advance

Polaroid P43D300 (vestel 17MB97) issues (bluetooth & various sw bugs)
      by snimmits
      Good afternoon,

      I have a Polaroid P43D300.
It shipped with WiFi and Bluetooth.

Two weeks ago, I ran through the first time installation.
This did a full reset and went through the first time setup.

Once complete, I went to settings > sound.
selected Audio Link, changed setting from disabled to enabled, pressed green button on remote and the tv does a search (discovery) for Bluetooth devices.

search completes and doesn't find any devices.

I have tried everything I can think of.

      Can someone provide...

Polaroid tql39r4pr002 TV switch off after logo display
      by coax81
      Hello,
i have an issue with my polaroid TV Model : tql39r4pr002
the standby led is red , and when i turn on the TV it shows the polaroid logo and turns off, also the standby led switches to blue the back to red .

capacitors are apparently ok, i have 320V in the smoothing primary capacitor, and 13V in the diodes in the secondary.

i don't understand why the mainboard switches to this mode and don't turn on.

don't find any service manual for this model ,or the main board schematic. cv9203h-a42

      thank you for your help....
