LG 55EC930T - System Menu doesnt initialized

    Hi,

I have this LG 55EC930T that was fixed by me but I am still having some issues with it.

At the moment this is what happens. TV can be powered on and watching Live TV without any issues. I am unable to use the home button on the Magic Remote. To enable the smart TV functions I used the ZAZA app with an IR blaster. pressing Menu will bring up, "initiaizing" then " System Manager, initialized", I can then use the magic remote.

After turning off the TV, I will need to use the ZAZA app again before i can use the magic remote.

I have attempted to reset to initial setup, but the tv wont complete the process. it will show me the spinning circles for 3 seconds before clicking off. Eventually it wont be able to turn on, to bring it back to the state that it can be turned on, I have to use RCoid App with IN_power to eventually get to the power only mode and exit that to the usual mode. I have also attempted to use in_stop with the same effect with the reset to initial setup.

I am suspecting something is wrong with the software as the tv works completely fine. Current version 05.05.70

Sounds like you are on the right path. Try doing a firmware upgrade, factory default, etc.

I don't understand well the steps you made but try to shot In-start pulse so you can get access to service menu then you make a service reset. You also must to explain what you have fixed and how. We don't like misteries.. :-]

Let me go back to my original problem.
        I had two sets.

Set 1, broken panel. Removed psu board, tcon board and mother board.
Set 2, received in power only mode. Using zaza remote, managed to exit and power off to boot normally.

My mistake then was to use set 2 to test the motherboard and tcon board from set 1. I tested first with the motherboard from set 1, everything works.

My problems started when I changed tcon board with set 1. Though everything works. It started to behave strangely like powering off itself. I changed back to the original tcon board and got to this state.

Sometimes using the original boards it also shutdown unexpectedly. I do think maybe there is a problem with the power supply board but it too coincidental to have started only after I changed the tcon board.

I am able to get the instart but don't see an option for service reset.

When I used in stop, the next time I turn on the TV, I see the webos logo before the tv clicks off. Subsequently I see it one more time, and the next I see the spinning circles before I am not able to turn it back on. To recover I have to user power only a few times before I am able to bring the tv back up.

well, i'm not familiar with LG service menu and i don' t remember which is the option to make a reset but the service manual will reveal it to you. What do you mean for "power only mode"? It's a strange situation because it seems that what you have called tcon has some differences, are you sure that all the boards have the same label/sticker code? Are you sure that connectors and cables from mainb. to "tcon" are now ok? There can be a conflict so for me a service reset can be a first option.

            An update:

After successfully resetting to initial via the system menu. The system manager now starts on it's own when I on the TV, hopefully there isn't anymore issues with the tv turning off by itself after this.

Hi Tokenizer (or anyone who can help)

I have a similar issue with "Loading..." and then "System Manager initialized"

You mentioned in your last post in this thread that you solved the issue by "successfully resetting to initial via the system menu".

I haven't found the factory reset option in either IN-START or in ADJ service menus.
Can you pls guide me through and elaborate on what exactly you did to perform the factory reset via service menu? (that is, of course, if you still remember that yourself

              Thanks!

The reset is done with the command - "IN STOP", then the password "0413" is entered.

Yeah, the topic starter mentioned that above a couple of times.
My concern is that after "IN STOP"+password, to turn the TV on, the P-ONLY has to be used (topic starter also mentioned that), and I am told that it would reset the usage hours (UTT).
Oh, by the way, will "IN STOP" also reset the panel calibration data? I remember reading somewhere about that, but I might be wrong here.
