Vizio D650i-B2 no picture but backlights

This fix is the same as the Vizio e701i-a3, you can refer to the thread below started by freakaftr8:

    https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=49281

Same issue basically, backlight with no picture or fading vertical lines. Removed left side ribbon from T-Con to panel and had good picture on right side.

    Panel # T650HVN05.9

Removed the 8 left side driver tabs from the panel and as with the same fix from freakaftr8, it's all good.

Hope this helps others, I was about to gut the TV for parts when I remembered to try the same fix above.

It's also really easy to get at these tabs on this model.

Re: Vizio D650i-B2 no picture but backlights

Sadly the TV has a "blue" look now... I don't know if there was another issue before as I just got this set, but I thought I had saw something about a blue tint while searching for a fix for the panel issue?? While testing it always had a blue tint to a blank or bad screen though.

The picture exaggerates the blue but it is certainly noticeable. Yes I did a factory reset, and has latest firmware.

      EDIT:
Apparently separate issue on these with bad LEDs causing blue/purple hue. Time to take it apart again. Yay.

          Vizio-D50u-D1 Pulsating Backlights
          by csmith
This Vizio came in the shop with no backlights. Replaced all the strips with replacement from Shop Jimmy. Set now has backlights but lights pulsate on left side. Half the screen brightens up then goes to normal then repeats.
Am I looking at a defective strip? Thanks in advance.

          TCL 55US57 backlights, no picture.
          by DXseekerMO
So here we go with another screen short TCL. For this exercise left and right will be reference looking at the screen.

The person I got this TV from said the color was bad in a vertical fashion about 1/4 of the way over the left side of the screen. Shortly after the symptoms below started.

Power Supply, main and T-CON board are working.

Symptoms: The TV has backlights but no picture with both FFC's attached to the T-CON and does not respond to the remote or buttons, and the TV appears to continuously re-boot.

          Unhook FFC from left side...

          Replacing backlights in Vizio V755-J04
          by x_orange90_x
I've had this monster for several months as I've hesitated to order backlights for it. Finally did order them and they are due to arrive tomorrow. Besides having ample space to work, are there any recommendations for working on such a massive screen? Should I remove the panel by myself or would 2 people be a better choice? I bought the double-cup suction cups from Harbor Freight and have been using them for the last few repairs on smaller screens. They are far superior to the single cup orange ones I used previously that would often let go without warning 😱.

          I have not replaced...

Vizio M65-E0 No Picture, No Sound
          by ggil44
Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...
