Thomson 46FT5453 LED TV vertical / horizontal dashed lines

    Hi guys
I have this Thomson TV here

Strangely there is no model number or any other numbers on the back of it but 46FT5453 could be the model number from a sticker on the main board

It has two wide bands of broken vertical lines on it.

Disconnecting the TCON cables just makes that side of the screen go blank (no lines) and does not affect the other side

Is there a way to determine if this is a panel fault or some other problem, without having to order another TCON or main board just to find out?

It has tab bonding boards on the bottom edge of the panel, so more likely the boards may have been damaged by cleaning liquid, you need to inspect the tab bonding boards.

Try the "Tape cut-off" method, you just tape a bit of the ribbon cable on the bad side, blocking the bad signals, if it clears up, confirms panel fault, most get a good picture, sometimes you have to play with how wide to make the tape.

          Screen Display Vertical Multicolor Lines
          by Stanley1843
Hello, I have a screen in where sometimes when I open it pop-up vertical multicolor lines (I would say the most of them are green). If I tun off and turn on the screen the lines dissapear or if I leave open the screen after approximately five minutes the lines gone. I measured the below voltages on the main PCB and on the T-CON board and the voltages are the same when it doesn’t display the vertical lines and when it displays the vertical lines. Also, I cleaned all the connectors very good with IPA. I moved back and forth the connectors and the COF tabs but the vertical lines didn't displayed...

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
          by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

          Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA vertical bars/horizontal lines
          by x_orange90_x
I posted about this previously but didn't get any response, and I have some troubleshooted a bit so I have more info.

The screen is full of horizontal "gaps" or lines that distort the picture badly, and after about 10 seconds of powering it on the screen starts to fill with red vertical bars that take on the horizontal pattern. After the screen filled with the red bars, they instantly vanished and then slowly started to reappear. I initially thought it was tab bonding failure, but after getting down to them and pressing each one I find zero change in the picture. I went...

Toshiba TV 55L6200U horizontal lines + vertical bands. Any hope?
          by oxi1158
          Hi all,

My TV had been showing for the last year some faint horizontal lines on all of its right side, about one out of each 4 of 5 rows of pixels. Not much of a bother, they were unnoticeable when watching a movie. Then, all of a sudden the horizontal lines became much stronger and crossed the whole screen, effectively making it a pain to watch.

I watched some youtube video where some guy "fixes" it with some tape on the ribbon cable of the t-con, so I tried that, but to no avail. Actually, after putting the TV back together again things worsened: apart...

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
          by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...
