Weird voltage readings on old and new board

I bought a new power board for a Vizio D55U-D1 that was reading 19.2v on
12v pins. The new board is giving me the same readings. This can't be normal
can it? These readings are the same even with the board isolated.

why did you get a new power board first place? What is your TV doing or not doing?

They control the negative line for regulation using a fet driven by a SP6018e. However the sp6018 VDD is supplied by 7812 regulator ic which has its input connected to that same (12v) line so for the 7812 to function the input must be above 12 volts, so 19v would be about right. So I suspect the board IS labeled wrong

The TV would not come on the light would blink 15 times then go back red, was not getting any standby voltage only 19 on the 12-volt pens even with the TV off. saw a cheap power board on eBay and thought I would give it a shot

I was just wanting to know if anybody else had seen this and if it was normal

Test connector from mainboard to powerboard on powerboard side with all boards hooked up, test with tv plugged in but off then hit power, report both conditions here, give pin number, pin description/name and condition both off and when you hit power on. So we can see all the voltages and what they are doing. Try to do test just as instructed, example in second link below if needed.

If you were getting a blinking led, You have standby voltage. Did you check pins 1&2 of CN9102?

Sorry for wasting your time guys it was the main board somebody spilled something on it the residue was still on the backside of it

                      by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                      Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

Zombie Samsung UN55NU6900F dead / no standby voltage - randomly came to life after hours of troubleshooting then died
                      by tvguy12012012120
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.

Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today....

Weird issues with stray voltage on prototype board
                      by EasyGoing1
I moved a circuit from a breadboard to a standard generic PCB prototype board, and the circuit didn't work on the PCB board. Specifically, a small Arduino Wifi device wouldn't even boot while it was on the PCB board.

Naturally, I checked all of my solder connections under a magnifying glass and I triple checked the wiring to make sure it was consistent with the schematic. This is a VERY SIMPLE circuit ... maybe a total of 10 wires are involved at the most ... a couple of pins, a transistor, couple resistors, and an LED.

Ultimately, I discovered that I was getting voltages...

All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
                      • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
                      • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault
