    Am I likely to have damaged the LCD

    So I'm inexperienced and I set the TV up to check the led backlights up on my bed.

    Then ofcourse I instantly realised where am I going to sleep should have picked the couch till the replacement strips came but I put a long canvas to keep the screen from bending and my thumb and finger in the middle of the screen verticaly and the edge of each side horizontaly I lifted the panel with the panel staying vertical at all times and placed it in another region

    I should add it was 55 inch :/ Panasonic TV. 55DX600B incase some panels are more weak as I see lots of Samsung's with smashed screens easily.

    I'm wondering if anyone else had did this though I doubt and to what extent the result was as I'm sure it might be damaged but I will update if miraculously it didn't.

    Give it a good visual inspection, you may not have broken it, they do brake REAL easy tho.

      Use you cell phone flashlight to look through the panel for cracks.

        Lifting a panel to the vertical from a flat position is a good recipe for a broken panel. A panel simply cannot support its own weight when lifted from the edges. I use a pair of dual suction cups to lift panels off of a chassis (which is lying flat). I then store them vertically leaned against a wall.

        As mentioned above, look thru the panel with a light and look for cracks.

          To keep this post updated. Thanks will definitely be better prepped if I do again, thanks for tip I managed to set all up today and I was lucky, no damage thankfully though I do maybe see slight backlight where I replaced showing through maybe on picture it's not noticeable to me watching normally.

            Good job - the panel gods were on your side this time.

            A lot of times, a repaired LED will show these hot spots due to the lens not being replaced in its exact prior position. The way I do it is to place the lens using 5 minute epoxy and looking straight down on the LED, center the lens so that the LED is centered in the view. Before I determined the better technique, I had to redo many a panel in order to fix this.

                ASUS Rog Strix G17-712LV Laptop Liquid damaged

                Hello Guys

                I have a ASUS Rog strix laptop that I bought recently to fix and the previous owner spilled water on it . He brought it into a repair shop for them to check it out and instead of fixing it they damaged the battery connector of the laptop ! Other than that they damaged damaged nothing . But since the liquid damage the laptop only turns on and the keyboard lights up and then immediately turns off. I really want to repair this laptop and I also have experience in repairing phones etc and laptops and a bit of soldering but the diagnosing part is where I need help with and...

                Identification of Component T5 on NEXIQ USB-Link 2 (damaged due to crushing)
                by Tomylee
                Hi everyone,
                I'm currently repairing a NEXIQ USB-Link 2 that was physically damaged due to crushing. After a thorough inspection, it appears that only one component is visibly damaged: the T5 component, located right next to the Mini-USB port.

                It's a 4-pin SMD component, with one pin at each corner, aligned front-to-back along the USB port axis. Unfortunately, it is broken, and there are no visible markings left on the part to identify it.

                I'm looking for help with the following:

                The exact identification or part number of the T5 component
                ...

                LG 50PA6500 Plasma TV damaged after a power spike
                by tofik
                Hello, I have an LG 50PA6500 Plasma TV, purchased new in 2012.
                Unfortunately plasma is not working at all after a power spike.

                Qucikly tested the PSU and voltages seems to be okay, when eveything is disconntected from the PSU I got:
                VS = 200-206 / actual = 205 V,
                VA = 55 / actual = 54.9 V,
                M5V = 5.2 / actual = 5.19 V,

                17 = 17.24 V,
                5.2 = 5.19 V,
                STDBY = 5.19 V,
                ERROR_DET = 4.8 V - does it mean PSU is damaged? the rest of the voltages seems to be fine.
                what's your opinion about the PSU?

                Also I just...

                What parts can be salvaged from a plasma with a damaged display panel?
                by SurrealMustard
                I recently found myself the proud owner of a later-model Samsung plasma (the PN59D7000 for those keeping score at home) whose panel was, unfortunately, damaged in transport. I'm now preparing to part it out, but am curious as to whether or not any damage would have come to any of the components by attempting to power it up with the panel being broken. I read in one Avsforum thread (for whatever that's worth 😂) that the "scan driver boards" (by which I assume he means buffer boards) could be impacted by doing so. Is that actually the case? If so, since I don't intend on selling bad...
