    HIsense Back lights

    HI
I got 2 hisense LEDN40K20dp tvs with most of the backlight LEDs blown.
In total there are 40 LEDs inseries which need s approx 120 volts. From the PSU I am getting a constant 240volts, so i suspect this is the problem. Hisense says this is an obsolete set so no spares. Anyone been here before
    Regards
    Jim

    Re: HIsense Back lights

If the LED driver is not seeing the load (LED string not connected or open circuit in the LED string), the output Voltage will be higher than the loaded Voltage.
Do you have good clear pictures of the power supply board and the pictures of the whole backside of the TV showing all the boards?

      Hisense LEDN40K Back lights
      by provider10
      Hi All

Got a problem with a Hisense LEDN40K. There is no back light . when I check the LED strips ( of which there are 8 with 5 LEDs on each one) I find that a lot of them are blown, there isnt one strip functioning. some have 2 leds working some none and in total there are26 LEDs blown out of 40. The weird thing is I have had this problem 4 times previous customers have refused the quote. But I would like to get to the bottom of this. does the PSU go faulty and blow all the LEDs.
Any input would be gratefully received

This happened last Saturday and today I finally had time this morning before I went to work to replace two non brand capacitors

I will let you be the judge weather or not these are bad or not according to the blue ESR meter that I am using

I am comparing them to a brand new one that I installed

The display came back on and the programming was not lost which I was surprised by I would have thought that when the display went blank that so did the memory as well

I going to let it run for several days before I remount back on the wall next to the...

My LG tv started going dark a few seconds after powering on. I replaced the led back lights after doing the flashlight test. The problem I am having now is the bottom of the screen is really bright and the middle to the top of the screen is darker. I can actually see the individual leds at the bottom of the screen. Not sure why that is. I've tried lowering the backlight setting but I can still see the led's at the bottom, and the middle to the top of the screen gets even darker.
