I got a freebee that a guy wanted gone out back of his pickup today.I thought it was total write off as it was face up in box of truck and it was raining all morning.I dried it out for couple days and now the problem is showing itself.Screen is dark on one side and video like in slow motion.Seems i have to remove tabs on one side or both?

Re: Sharp Aquos LC -70LE640U
well you can't remove tabs on BOTH sides unless you just want to watch a blank screen, as you need tabs on at least one side.
From the pictures, I would say there is some cabling disconnected... have you looked at the back of the set? -
Re: Sharp Aquos LC -70LE640U
Do this disconnect one side of the ribbon cables from the lower side of the tcon then turn on.one side will come on and check for image. Do the same thing for the other side also . Unplug power when switching sides.Comment

Went out and powered down set for while and screen came back normal waited awhile and screen started to distort and go dark.I had hunch so i replaced the tcon board again and screen came on this time.gonna run it all night and see what happens. The chips on sides all looked ok and felt cool to touch.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC -70LE640U
K, all were cool? Usually in my experience if I replace a tcon and messes up again I find a hot driver tab. It shorting-out the tcon board.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC -70LE640U
Check your driver boards on the bottom one. Just press them while it’s on and see if any changes occur.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC -70LE640U
Thanks charlie for tips.I checked it this morning and unit is running perfectly. The only issue is there is a spot in right top corner and in couple of other places very hard notice in other places.I have suspicion it may be residue left by water as it was left outside in rain.I'm glad i never jumped the gun and cut those side tabs.Looks so far as t-con was issue.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC -70LE640U
Diah the board only lasted a week back to same picture.I guess i will have cut ribbons on one side after all.Comment

Re: Sharp Aquos LC -70LE640U
I wouldn't do any "cutting" just yet. disconnect the small cable in the bottom corner... there is one on each side. Check what the result is on the picture when one is disconnected. If your spots don't go away, it is likely that cutting any side tabs is going to help the situation as the problem is more likely associated with the tabs along the bottom.Comment

by RozpHello Everyone,
This is my first post so I will try to be as precise as possible without making this post too long winded. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the original problem but I included images of the TV internals.
I have a Sharp 70LE660U. The problem started a few months ago with the bottom row looking out of sync and was dark on the left side and then fading to transparent on the right side. Shortly after, a dark cloud appeared in the center of the screen. The dark cloud started small and shaded but the image was visible. It also affected the menu area.... -
by sefosterI have a Sharp Aquos LC-80LE757U that randomly made a loud popping noise when when watching TV one day. We found that the fuse blew and the thermistor. We ended up replacing the entire power supply board and have also replaced the TCON board. Now as soon as I plug the TV in it lights up and has the Sharp logo flashing on and off of the screen. If I unplug the ribbon cable from the TCON board to the main board I get the 2 long 5 short error code. Any ideas on where to go from here? We've tried resetting it but nothing has worked. If we plug it in and let it cycle through the flashing of the Sharp...

by jonah1024Hello!
I'm a few days old into this TV screens repair universe so please bear with me.
Recently, and all of a sudden my 40” 4K Sharp Aquos LCD TV turned on with colors all smudged in some places on the screen that remain like that even without any kind of video source. I do have image but the colors are smudged/tinted/ washed out in patches as per defects. This to me looks similar to burn in but I’m shore this is not an OLED.
- I did the classic unplug and hold power button to discharge the caps but it didn't help.
- I did a factory reset as well...5 Photos -

by scubacamperI found another post on this site the other day which has been very helpful in troubleshooting this issue I am having with my tv. The left half of the screen is dark, and the other half is VERY slow to generate it's image - and it only generates part of its image at that.
Based on this yt video, I have narrowed it down to an issue (short?) on the left side of the display, somewhere in the system of ribbon cables.
when I remove the bezel and the rear cover, I can get the image to display correctly by manipulating the ribbon cables on the left side which connects the left lower display... - Loading...
